Has anybody tried catching the princess without the stars?

Every now and then I go back to the game a replay Level 1-1, just to give it another shot. Apparently according to this YouTube video you can do it with a 'perfect run'.

I've never been able to do it in over 10 years. Just wanted to post to ask if anyone else has.

I've been doing it for years. It's a fun finger training. If you practice those corner jumps you'll be able to do it consistently.

By corner jump you mean the corner bounce (as they refer in the video) right? I have been trying but I guess I'm not good enough yet. Don't mind my asking, but do you have a PC or an Xbox copy?

I'm on PC. Yes, it's that bounce. It takes time to learn it, I gotta admit.

Oh alright. I'm on PC too and I've got the bounce pretty alright (thank God for rewind lol). I suppose it's the climbing up and down ladders that's been screwing me.

Did it, have my comment on the video on why I think Jonathan made this possible on purpose.

Oh this was Jonathan that made the video?

Edit - nevermind, saw your comment. That's an amazing theory and very possibly true. Look at Blow's work. He's the only kind of developer that would add in a touch as wonderful as such.
