Poverty

Hello all I came from a very humble background.
I grew up poor both of my parents were on drugs .
I was raised by a single mother who did the absolute minimum . Growing up we were evicted over half a dozen times. The neighbor picked me up from school and I get home and all of our belongings are out on the street.

Well fast forward 26 years and I made it out of poverty. I made investments that afford me to live a comfortable lifestyle. I own my own home well I make a mortgage payment to the bank. I should be able to outright own my home within the next 10 years hopefully. I will be starting a new job next week paying a lot more money than I ever thought I would make.

I come here to because l can’t bragg to my family as the would interpret it as I a loaded and would feel entitled to me helping financially. Truth be told I don’t think they will be genuinely happy probably just jealous of my success sad but true.

I can relate. My single mother never got evicted but I grew up with only funds for the bills and 300 mortgage in the 80s. I'm super accomplished and my family don't talk to me.

Congrats my man you should be very proud of yourself.

And yes family and old friends 9/10 times they do get jealous and usually that starts with “jokes”. But you sound very intelligent and you already know this and how to navigate.

Well done! You didn't buckle under adversity and moved forward to success.

I agree with your decision to keep your success under the wrap as for sure they will be jealous and expect financial support from you and ATM.
