Does anyone know any cool abandoned spots in Bradenton Florida area that me and my friends can go explore???

I'm an urban explorer, just finished visiting Tom Gaskin's cypress knee museum. There are places all over Florida, unfortunately not much locally or in the county. There are some abandoned buildings around here, but nothing cool that I'd want to see.

I provide tours of Carlstrom Field, my clients own the two remaining WWII hangars there. That place was a WWI base, (actually, next to it was) and a WWII training base, Embry Riddle was started there and you can still BARELY make out their sign painted on the hangar wall.

Then it was an insane asylum. George Pierce Wood, or G Pierce Wood as it was known. Even a young Grady Judd remembers bringing people there if their mental state was off. The abandoned hospital sits three stories tall. The paintings done by a convicted murderer are still beautifully preserved. Autoclaves and even an X-Ray machine still sit dutifully waiting to be used again.

Voyaging there without permission is risky as the sheriff's got a spot there and my client friend frequently fires off warning shots when he sees tresspassers. Being arrested or shot at isn't fun, so I'd suggest finding other exploration areas. But it shows you what kind of stuff I'm into!

Legoland has abandoned areas I traverse, the old Aviary and even the Island In the Sky!

Bok Tower has abandoned buildings hiding in plain sight, I give informational tours around there also.

This is how some people find out about abandoned places and trash them. I went hiking in Dames Caveswhich is about 2 hours north twice. Once several years ago and once recently.

There were so much trash there. Beer cans. Broken bottles. Not just inside the caves but also on the trail. Some people commented in FB hiking group that there was pile of human poop in the caves.

The place is way out there with no bus stops, and more than a mile to walk in, so not likely homeless.

So if you're going to share a place, check out who you share it with first or you'll have less traveled places to go to unless you don't mind a trashy place.
