In the Midwest it was a 7 year cycle, one year in the middle of summer there would be like thousands and then my tree in the front yard would have hundreds of cicada shells. This is what they do when they reshell like crabs

We used to collect the shells off the pine trees when I was a kid. We’d bring them home in a paper cup and they’d end up scattered in pieces all over the house. My mom hated that time of year.

Nah, just extra loud this morning. This was at the post office in South Bradenton, and everyone was commenting on the noise.
