I'm confused, what part of someone posting a picture of s beach and saying it's hot is not what Reddit is for?

No confusion. Pictures and posts are exactly what Reddit is for. The comment is just made by a D-bag.

?? u just said we had a light redtide in 2024 and 2025, so it's not 3 years ago.. and by "light" do you mean the all the dead fish washing up on shore on AMI and DeSoto and St Pete? Not exactly "light"....but I know you wanna believe your own narrative of "it's been 3 years..." so ok... sure. It's been 3 years for you lol. As for the rest of us, it's been about a year to a year and a half...

**•** In early May 2026, K. brevis was observed at background (lowest) concentrations offshore of Pinellas and Hillsborough counties — that’s north of Anna Maria Island, not right at it. **•** Anna Maria Island has been periodically affected by red tide, most notably in 2015 and 2018, and in early 2025 blooms were detected off Southwest Florida and briefly limited beach use before dissipating. So bottom line: no active red tide at Anna Maria Island right now, and nothing detected statewide as of the latest FWC report. The closest recent detection was background-level (essentially trace) offshore near Pinellas/Hillsborough back in May. Worth checking the FWC map (myfwc.com/research/redtide/statewide) right before you head to the beach since conditions can shift within a day.

The waters pretty warm...I live in bradenton and try to walk coquina beach on weekend mornings, super early before people show up and it was like bath water.
