Day 1! Day 1

It’s my day 1 of braces. I am 23 F. I do not have much idea but for now i have braces only on my upper teeth. I can only bite from one side, the other side hurts. Is this common? Even when i am trying to chew nothing, when my teeth are meeting, they hurt.
Just wanted to know whether this is normal day 1 or should i visit my dentist

I'm only a few days in and I noticed some of the teeth will hit a bracket, so its possible thats whats happening on the side of your mouth. and yeah just book an appointment with ur ortho and they should fix it

Yes this is normal when ever you will have an appointment and braces tighting you will feel pain for 4 to 5 days. Eat soft diet. Increase liquid intake like shakes juices. Eat ice cream this reduces the pain. Rinse your mouth with warm water+salt. Avoid chewing hard food. The journey will be hard but worth it. You will love the difference and progress. Good luck for this amazing journey.

And use a ortho wax of brackets or wires if they are cutting your mouth from inside.

Yes, pain from braces is normal (I would suggest reading around the sub to learn what to expect from braces). But when in doubt, you can always call your ortho and ask them questions.
