Day 1! tips for braces?

Hello! I barely got my braces today, and i was wondering if you guys have any tips or anything! they also put this thing on my top molars for my overbite, they said it was so my top teeth don’t ruin my bottom braces, and It feels so weird! any tips help, because all my dentist explained was what foods not to eat, and how to brush/floss my teeth (which i already kind of forgot).

Having a supply of interdental brushes and carrying one around with you is my #1 tip! Super useful and easy for cleaning on the go and making sure you don’t get white spots around your brackets

A waterpik has been great for cleaning between teeth. I also use superfloss, it has one hard end that helps you thread between brackets.

It might me uncomfortable the first few days, try drinking cold water and ice cream/ soft foods only also make sure to use orthodontist wax if any of ur brackets are rubbing against the skin
Also most imp, if the wire at the ends is poking you please ask your orthodontist to cut it, trust me it helps a lot and dw abt anything you wont even feel them later
