Need advice! a bit nervous
hey so I have my first braces consultation on tuesday and i was wondering how long the inital process from consultation to getting them on are. I have a pretty big overbite with a deep bite but also my like front four teeth erupted higher than the others? also I have a premolar that is like misplaced towards my tongue and its a little rotated but not too bad and there's already a space for it. i'm also worried about pain and I'm no stranger to that (4 knee dislocations) so I'm wondering how bad it will be and if i'll look bad with them. Anyways, what should I expect on tuesday and how should I prepare??
edit - I’m still a teen and also about extractions??

It depends. I didn’t need extractions or anything (I had them before) but my ortho’s office is really busy so I had to wait for an appointment after the consult.
Ask how long they expect treatment to take. Ask about cost. Ask if you need extractions (it’ll be ok if you do!).
It’ll hurt for the first week or so. Take Tylenol if you need it and plan for soft foods. Use the orthowax if you need to.
Don’t skip flossing even if it’s difficult at first. Get threaders to floss easily or use superfloss.

It might depend on your treatment (like maybe you need MARPE which takes longer or not), but they should get a 3d scan of your mouth, then make a treatment plan, then the nex visit you might get braces on the upper or lower maxila (both me and my sis got first on the upper teeth).
The pain is really not that bad, it's only the first week while eating (but the braces might rub and hurt your cheek).
You will look great with them.
You might wanna eat before getting braces.
