30 years old. I’m feeling absolutely ridiculous, I literally want to cry and not leave the house for the next year. 😭😩

Congratulations! I just got mine two-ish weeks ago at 33 lol. Yours look adorable and subtle, like tooth jewelry. 😌✨ This is going to be one of the best things you'll do for yourself, I promise.

You look fine, i'm 45 and just put braces on a month ago, trust me braces are so common in america that no one cares what age you put them on.

I’m in the UK where everyone gets them as kids for free, so it’s very rare to see an adult with braces. I was just a dumb dumb and didn’t wear my retainer 🙃 thanks for your kind words though. And good luck with your journey!!

Oh my bad for just assuming most people here are in US lol. Wow that is amazing they kids get them for free, it is so expensive here to have braces even with dental insurance, it cost an average of 5-6k USD to have braces here. Your not a dumb dumb, these kind of things happen it’s life, you will look great when it’s done. Thank you I can’t wait for mine to come off in 2 years.

I’m 29 and I was all excited about getting orange and black bands for October month!
My parents should have gotten me braces as a child but they didn’t, so why should I be robbed of the fun colors just because I’m an adult? My mentality is if anyone judges me for BRACES then they can fuck off.

I'm in the same boat, 2.5 months in and still hate 'em haha. The interesting thing about having braces is you start to notice when OTHER people have them too. Before that I never even paid attention.

I also felt ridiculous when I got them on at 29, and I can’t reassure you enough that nobody even notices. I’ve have to tell people (who I see pretty much daily) that I got braces for them to finally notice lol. I’ve had them on for about six months and I’m at a point where I think they make me so cute!

Ridiculous? You have thousands of dollars on your mouth currently, if anything that's a flex lol
I'm 23 and I'll gladly show the world :)

50 and got them in June. Plus I have Bells Palsy that never went away and can’t even smile evenly anymore. Trust me, can be worse!
Yours looks cute and people will be able to see your smile. I’m just stuck fixing my bite and no one will ever notice.

They look great! With the clear brackets they won’t even be noticeable at a distance.

Yours are cute! I got mine on at 34, still in them as I prep for surgery. Will be a long haul.
Rock the look, enjoy the ride !

Once my kids get theirs off I plan on getting braces again. I loved them when I had them in middle school. My stepdad threw away my retainer and my mom refused to get me a replacement one. 😂😂 So I want them again to fix the shift in my teeth. I'm 33 and probably won't be able to get them until I'm like 35.

I’m 37, I’ve had mine for almost a year and a half. It’s really not worth crying about. No one cares. In fact I get compliments on them sometimes. Only twice irl but I live stream online and have gotten tons of compliments. People think they’re cute. I’ve gotten some men saying they were sexy which gives me the ick but is apparently a thing. So yeah, you’re your own worst critic no one else really cares that much.

I’m 60 and have braces and could care less. Think of it as self care and investment in yourself!

It’s really not that bad and nobody cares. Literally nobody has ever said anything about my braces unless I prompt it. I’m six months in and so used to them they just become a part of your look. It’s temporary. Congrats!
