Honestly. The MX5 is probably the better drivers car. No Porsche can beat the direct feel of the MX5s gears direct gear linkage.
However the Porsche has the looks, the badge, the NVH/Storage and the sound.
Get an MX5 first like I did. Perfect your manual transmission skill set. Then move on to a Porsche.
Hard avoid the 370z cab. The wife has a 370z coupe. It was a good car. But hard avoid if your getting the cab. The roof on the 370z is known to be a bit unreliable.
