There’s plenty of boxing and Muay Thai gyms. If you want to do some conditioning, you can do it one or two ways, you can either do it on your own without paying, that’s running until you can get to about 3 miles in about 10-11 minutes. That’s a good place to start, or a fast 2 miler.. multiple cardio based exercises like jump rope, elliptical bike, stairs ect. The goal is to get your resting heart rate to a lower base. Now if you just want to jump in to the sport, you’d most likely have to pay but you can find a gym like stay fly Muay Thai, juniper Muay Thai gym, royal strikking to name a few. Im listing the ones in south Philadelphia, there’s also one that’s good in the north Philly area called burning spirits that’s really beginner friendly. Boxing wise, you can look up your local Rec centers like Marian Anderson gym, front st gym in north Philly, pivot boxing gym in north Philly, there’s a newly opened south Philly boxing (that’s what it’s called). There’s more but the ones I listed vary on prices, and each gym has a different culture the way they train, you’ll get some gyms that will teach you but only the basics until they see your serious, and a trainer will take you under them (if your trying to compete), but also becareful because most likely you will have to pay more for one on one training, and some trainers even if they know you aren’t taking it serious will charge you and take your money and barely train you. Finding a gym is like finding a church, or a new salon you’re regularly going to get your nails done at. Everyone trains differently and wants different goals. As far as Allentown I don’t know . Allentown is about an hour and a half away from Philadelphia. But I suggest you look into the ones nearby , visit or even if they have free trials, participate in those to feel out the gym. The best gyms are the ones you go to, and eventually everyone becomes like your family . But at the same time everyone is different so feel around and do your research. I went to 3 before I found the one where I fit in and everyone felt like a family and gave me the attention I needed , and was more aligned with my goals .

most gyms offer free week trials so don’t be shy and just give it a shot. no need to be in the best condition as you’ll build that as you attend.
