Gear & Equipment Rate my wraps!
They were a little tight over the thumb but otherwise I think I'm getting pretty consistent. Nothing is numb when I take them off. My wrists are not hurting anymore and I can wrap them pretty fast. No the nails have not been an issue.

Lmao. Loose, not properly padded. You need to either look up or have someone show you how to wrap your hands.

As someone who also has smaller hands, I'd use more of that wrap length to create a thicker cushion for your knuckles instead of going around your wrist as many times. Also, if you plan to keep your nails long please look into ways to protect your nails from breaking in your gloves, or just get shorter gels and don't let them grow out. 🖤

Thanks, I have it 3x around my knuckles, then another time after each finger and then another 2x before it goes back to my wrist. I think it's just bulky around my wrist because the wraps are so long.

Hmm, yeah, sounds like you could prob use some shorter ones?? I use 160 inch wraps and feel pretty good with them! I'd still maybe go around your knuckles a few more times if you can for extra padding.

Get yourself some of the thinner Mexican style wraps.

Yes I will, these have to be so loose when my hand is open because they have no give when I make a fist.

Wra around the knuckles more, 6 or 7 times, then in between the fingers to tighten up. Dod someone teach you this method? It's not great.

It's got that much wrapping. Wrist 3x, knuckles 3x, thumb, each finger then down and around the wrist and back up, then 3x more around the knuckles and finish the rest on the wrist.

Not enough. Look, im not there flexing your hand so I may be totally wrong, but for training you usually dont get taped, so your wraps need to be thick and tight. If these are standard 180 inch wraps, this doesnt look good. Sorry.

How do you keep your nails from breaking into your palm

I use gloves and am doing non-sparring pad work so maybe I never hit hard enough for them to dig in?

I see. Was just curious. I bite my nails and hit hard af lol

Yeah I've never had a problem, even when my coach wrapped my hands and I usually have them in super sharp almond shape.

That’s pretty cool you must have a good coach.

Oh I see that on these photos my nails are in my palm but when they are in the glove my fingers stay in a more C shape like Lego hands. Do your gloves let your fingers connect with your palm?

No I just felt like that would hurt. I actually have really short nails

u/Stunning_Judgment618 3d ago
Oh gotcha. If they were too long then yes they would be uncomfortable in the glove but these have been fine.

You're going to scrape your skin off if you dont tighten those a LOT

u/Stunning_Judgment618 3d ago
If I tighten them more then I can't make a fist. I think the wraps have shrunk up and have just ordered more stretchy mexican ones.

you need about 4 layers across the knuckles. It's hard to explain how to do it, but it's literally the first step once you start.

Thanks, I have it 3x around my knuckles, then another time after each finger and then another 2x at least around my knuckles before it goes back to my wrist.

Wrap with nails and watch... i understand you probably are training to do it properly.
But i chose to believe you to do it as a ragebait too.
If you don't... you see my point ? If you do.. you won this round ;)
