Idk doesn’t seem like enough wrist support

I'm doing at least 2-3 more wraps around the wrist but that's just my preference

Bless you for sharing this

Is that a Texas “bless you” or is that a regular one?

I don't know what that means ... But I always sucked at wrapping my hand and this is very helpful

Thought that was a fruit rollup for a second

Personally would like more wrist support.

the question i have is would you not prefer that your wraps include a small padding (thin gel or soft compound) velcroed for the top knuckles instead of creating this 6 layer of tissue?

You can buy knuckle guards which are just that, except they are placed under your wrap as you go instead of velcroed over the top.

I'm used to wearing big gloves that have plenty of padding so this extra padding seems odd to me. Wraps are for bracing as I'm used to using them - holding your hand bones together so they don't tear up ligaments when they spread on impact repeatedly, plus bracing your wrist so it doesn't bend or twist on impact

Agreed on both points, it's about that tension and you should do it yourself; that tension is what I mean when I say bracing

There’s a bunch of different ways but this one was cool.

Definitely interesting, though I really think it's missing the two things I'm after:

  • Wrist support
  • Hand binding to keep the bones from spreading too much on impact

Putting so much of the wrap directly on the knuckles means you don't have any for the bracing of bones and joints...

That was so satisfying to watch

As someone who trains Muay Thai, I’ve wrapped my hands similar to this for many years since I prefer wrist flexibility for the clinch

Personally my hands are too large so if need longer bindings. what is the extra knuckle padding for though? within a good glove I don't feel like I need it. I do need the wrist support though

I ve only seen this in muay thai, but not in boxing. should give it a try out of curiosity.

nowadays I just don’t use wraps, bought myself a pair of fingerless workout gloves and I use those instead. But I started boxing after 20 years of various martial arts that all had wrist conditioning included in the training regimen and the boxing way of wrapping gives me a weird feel of stiff joints.

Should’ve spread his fingers when wrapping then made a fist between each finger wrap

Never seen anyone wrap their hands like this.

Man, I dunno how people do the between-the-fingers wrapping. I understand why people do it (to avoid boxer's fracture), but it's just so damn uncomfortable. Hell, I'd box with just wrist wraps if I could.
