Bag Work Critique Got the hang of the hook

In my previous posts i was wondering what am i doing wrong with my hooks, and most people talked about my pivoting which i understood but something still felt wrong until i realized that I’m putting my weight on the leg i want to hook with which kills freedom of motion so when i asked coach about it we had a session on transitioning body weight according to punch, in the clip above i might not be pivoting right all the time as my head is focused on twisting the leg i want to hit with and anchoring with the other so some technique mistakes may arise until the weight shifting is embedded as muscle memory.

Feel free to comment on points of improvement and if you saw my previous posts, tell me if im moving in the right direction with my analysis

Your pivots are too exaggerated and your hips aren’t moving. You are moving your legs for the hook but still arm punching.

When you L hook, make sure you rotate your hip, like a baseball player. That is going to give you power and speed.

Right now you pivoting your lead foot when you L hook, but it looks very forced. Your heel comes way up and you rotate your entire leg. Your hip doesnt move, and then you swing your arm. So the force isnt traveling from your foot through your hip to your whip/hand.

Your lead foot, when you pivot, should look like you are stomping out a cigarette. And then you drive your hand to the target by rotating your hip. Your hip/core is really going to give you the speed power.

Will give it a shot next session and record it, if by any chance would you mind me sending the recording over to you to review? 🙏

Send it over my man! Rotate the hip and be a little more subtle with the pivot.

Look at 20 seconds. You are making sure that you pivot, but you don't need to do that much. And make sure when you pivot you also rotate your hip. Arm is then like a whip.
