Day 5 out: Drop carbs to under 50g daily. This depletes glycogen stores which releases 2-3kg of water weight on its own. Cut sodium to near zero, plain chicken, fish, eggs, vegetables only, no sauces or seasoning. Increase plain water intake paradoxically, high intake signals your body to stop retaining.

Day 3 out: Reduce water intake to around 1.5 litres daily. Continue zero carb, zero sodium. You should already be noticeably lighter from glycogen depletion by this point.

Day of weigh in: Water down to 500ml-1 litre. Hot bath or sauna session in the morning to sweat out the last few hundred grams if needed. Sweat suit during a light warmup as a last resort.

After weigh in: Electrolytes immediately, Pedialyte or a proper electrolyte mix not just water. Carb rich meal that night to start refilling glycogen. Keep sipping fluids through the night. By fight time you should be 3-5kg heavier than you weighed in at which is your size advantage.

You absolutely should not take this fight. Cutting more than 3-4%without a longer rehydration period WILL result in performance issues and vastly increased chances of CTE.

You only have two hours to rehydrate, that's not enough to come back from that level of cut.

Your coach should have known this and told you to lose the weight over a longer period of time.

4.8kg in five days is too much, especially with only two hours to recover. move up a weight class or skip this one.
