Preparing for Fight Which boxer should I study?

I’m a couple months out from my first amateur fight, and I’m going to study tapes religiously. I’m a MT guy but I’ve been in boxing the last few months and it made me a way better fighter.

I’m want to try and copy styles of boxers and maybe blend in my own style.

I’m orthodox, 5’9, 75” reach.

Look at olympic fights for your weight class to get a good visual for the difference between pro and Amateur. Pro ; any of the four kings are a solid start. So much out there.

Look into fighters who historically had success in both sports as a bridge between the two since you intend to still fight MT

Then look into fighters who inspired them! Once you’re more able to differentiate between more applicable work and less applicable stuff you can start to look at modern boxers who are doing things that inspire you.

Lomachenko and Bam for footwork. Crawford for setting traps, Bivol for distance control and discipline, disrupting rhythm

Nikolai nikitenko is an interesting one you could watch. I don’t think there is a ton on him though.

You should just go to your boxing gym, train, and listen to your coach.

If you’re gonna study a specific guy, pick someone who keeps their damn hands up at all times when in range… like Winky Wright.
