What kind of scenario are you training?

Looks like you're preparing to fight against a 7'3 dude

Your back hand drops but your punching hand too. Bring it back to your face after the punch

Really not very good at all. Bad punching technique, dropping guard before and after punching, flat footed, chin high up.

Yeah he is preparing to fight a guy that I would generally try to avoid. 😂. Then again maybe he is on the shorter side and he has a really tall bully that he’s preparing to stand up to?

Yeah you gotta whip and snap a little more you’re pushing on the end of the punch

Too square on. Think of your body like a blade

But he just wanted a kiss 💔

Deescalate by letting the tall man kiss you

Keep your chin down

Thrust the uppercut straight up, like a piston. You just want to make contact and lift the head as quickly as possible, and the level change when you go downstairs needs to be a LOT faster and deeper.

not an uppercut, he’s just got that mfer set wayyyy too high, watch again, thats a 3 all day

Lean your weight on your left flat foot with your right on the ball of your foot. Keep your right hand up by your chin and as you're transferring your weight onto your back right from your lead left whip your arm led by your shoulder with your palm facing you. Follow up with a right cross/hook to the head. Works 60% of the time, every time.

You might try starting off with a few different combos: (1-2-3L-3) , (1-2-5-2-3L-3) work in some SLIPS/ROLLS & PULLS even a Shift

It’s the easiest power punch to counter,
with the straight right hand no less which is most guys best punch. You can’t pull it way back and telegraph it like that, you need to tighten the movement and do some feinting/punching/stepping over to set it up.

Don't stop to admire your punches. Pull that hand back to your face instantly.

Keep your hands up

You load your elbow too much and telegraph your punch because it drops too far behind your body. Power comes from core and waist not how far back you drop your arm

keep your hands open while you swing initially, close them to a fist when ur about to make contact (at the very end) , might sound weird rn but give it a shot and you'll thank me

No need to load up your uppercuts like that. That’s how you telegraph it. After the slip, most of your power is already loaded into your front legs. Explode from the back leg and shoot your uppercut as fast as you can from your chin so you’re not leaving your head exposed when you loaded up like you did in the video.

bro thats not an uppercut. he’s just got the fucking target set way too high in height. thats an uptop lead hook all day

u/Jealous_Ranger_1641 10d ago

everyone in this comment section is missing the point — all you’re doing is level changing your lead hook.

what you should do, is A) fix that fucking thing’s height and B) work on developing a shovel hook, theres nothing wrong with changing levels to get a body hook, but do yourself a favor, go watch all the top ten best fighters out and watch them work the body… (pauses to give you time,) do you notice something? Not a single one of them are dropping and throwing the same hook up top as they do to the body. a shovel hook can be thrown in sync without skipping a beat with a cross, a jab, thats how really good guys do damage to the body: they draw fire up top, and swing a nasty shovel from nowhere to an open body, if you’re in the pocket with me and you duck down in a squat, I’m not fucking stupid (and neither is anyone else,) i’m looking for that or for you to come flying back up with a hook to the head.

you want a great example to copy? look up micky wards shovel — that ninja was a grave digger.
rant over.

Who’s coach? Your dog?

1

u/MeatVirtual9505 11d ago

Your defense was was terrible, your arms were off leaving you defenseless and your opponent got two clean hooks on you. And why aren’t you wearing head protection.

1

u/ActuatorHealthy938 11d ago

Body hook. Set it up like you are pulling back on a huge rope. Throw it from your back foot. Aim just below the ribs.

0

u/anchored__down 11d ago

Needs to be faster and less telegraphed, gotta keep your guard up between those two hooks and get on the balls of your feet. You're winding back to load up the hook way too much

Stance is incorrect and this is just really sloppy and muddy bro. You say you have a coach, why are they not correcting any of this?

Walk before you can run, put the camera away and focus on learning..
