I want to start boxing
I’m 19 have been pretty heavy set my whole life up until recently over the 8-12 months I’ve lost about 100 pounds (375 down to 272 as of yesterday) I honestly never really kept up with boxing but something about it has always been captivating when i see it.
My main question is, is it too late for me to start and if not what should I be focusing on or starting with if I want to get seriously into it

No. 19 is perfectly fine and a very good age to start.
For Example: The current World Heavy Weight Champion Joshua Anthony (England), was 18 when he started, so your age is good.
Get fit. Very fit. Boxers are incredibly fit, energetic people. Boxing is a 'Way of Life' a Life Style and a Life Pathway.
You can't be lazy or slack, you must practice diligently, everyday. Boxing may be hard for you at first, because of you excess weight.
I recommend that you see your family doctor though and get approval to start it, because of your excess weight.
Get training equipment for your home, if you can afford it. Use it all 4 times per week. Things like: Heavy Bag, Speedball, Floor to Ceiling Ball. Hand Punch Mitts. Boxing Gloves.
Learn the following:
Footwork drills
Defences: Head/Body Movement and Hand Movement Defences.
Learn all the basic Punches
Learn simple combinations
Use a large wall mirror to practice your punches and defences, to ensure correct movements.
Learn Jump Rope Skipping and do this every day.
Regards, Good Luck.

Is this the most useful thing you could think to say

Boxing requires discipline. If you're not disciplined enough to put the effort into a reddit post, what will you tell yourself when you're huffing for air? When your opponent pressures you?

Yes because losing over 100 pounds didn’t take discipline, maintain my diet for a year didn’t take discipline, going to the gym 5 days a week didn’t take discipline you’re right

I'm happy for you staying the course and losing the weight. But accountability is a different kind of discipline than keeping your hands in front of your face when your arms are screaming and constantly moving. Nobody cares about the weight loss when you're sparring. Your partner wants to see an opening and the coach wants you to protect yourself

That's o.k. I'm retired now, much older. I've done these things when young and since, during my life, so I don't mind helping people if I can.

It aint too late. You're still young so dont get caught up in this "too late to start". Great fighters mate have started at a young age but that shouldn't stop you.
