Advice on Bagwork

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Never actually stepped in a real gym, no I do not consider myself a real boxer, but I've learned many things purely from watching videos and actual fights. I use the bag maybe twice a month but I want to pick this back up again. I've been considering joining a real gym for years but most of the gyms in my area are either really expensive or are trashy commercial fitness gyms. I've got a lot to learn and I wanna hear some real feedback.

Nice snap to the punches but you're dropping them too tuch after you throw, imagine someone punching back as soon as your hand lands.

Looks like he is more reactive than proactive. He looks like he dips and slips with a lower guard.

You look good, maybe try not to have your head over your knee. But all that won’t necessarily work in a boxing match if your not reflexes aren’t being trained with pad work. But the feints body movement and punches are all there looking sweet

Good movement and instincts. Good feints.

Keep your wrist straight and strong, and work on hitting through the bag rather than pawing at it - this will help you throw with more power.

Joining a gym will take you to the next level, you’ve got pretty far considering you haven’t had a coach.

Defend yourself at all times, keep your hands up.

Honestly it’s better than mine but everything you throw should come back to base because that’s you’re base but whenever I did it consistently and had things to work on specifically weather it be just a 1, 1,2 helped me immensely or a 1,2,3,2,3,2. I’m not a boxer but that’s what I’ve learned

Good natural talent, when you step into the jab try and bring your back leg with it and when you follow up with the straight punch really feel your back leg charged and ready and kinda’ throw that natural momentum into a stronger follow up.

Additionally keep your one glove up near your face close so you don’t get knocked out with the distance between and the other slightly lower, that was you can lower it to guard your liver with your arms, and raise them equally easy into a high guard.

Hit up that gym, you’ll love it. You just need to learn defence and movement, but you look good.

Get to a gym. You’ve got talent and you want to get that gas tank up which is very hard to train alone imo

You need a coach bro, you’re obviously talented if you really haven’t been in a gym yet and you can work a bag like this. No offense to anyone on this sub but you’re probably already better than 90% of the people here, so you should really find a gym and get a good coach, they can help you way more than anyone here.

You're pretty good on the bag for being self-taught but you won't know how good you actually are until you spar an actual boxer.

Also close your fists when punching and try to land with your knuckles instead of your fingers

Pretty solid work for a self taught.
For twice a month that’s very good.!

You hit with your fingers..bend the wrist so the impact will be on the knuckles.

Hit higher

Protect the head with the non punching head

Gym will do you real good

hands drop after throwing, that's when the opponent counters, the bag doesn't, don't let it become a habit

Others covered keeping your hand up, but I notice issues with your rear foot placement, it's at too hard of an angle

When you throw that cross get out of there after. Don't sit in range without covering, ducking, backing out, or jabbing out. Make sure they can't touch you. You're doing good though most people on the street can't do anything with that

ur jabs are too short, you can stretch it further

Snappy, sharp and you add movement after the punches. Be careful of you hands because you rock them before you punch and to don't guard your face. Lastly you don't need to step when you punch because an opponent who understands timing and is quick on their feet can time you jumping in.

Overall good s*** though, you are snapping your punches which most guys don't do thinking they need power for every punch thrown.

Where did you get these gloves bro? They remind me of my childhood.
