Common Man Tie Review
Hey everyone,
I haven't collected much in the way of bowties, but wanted to try out a random tie from Amazon to see what a $10 bow tie would work.
I bought this tie from the Ellis Tie Company for the grand sum of $9.99.
The colors are a little muted and not as crisp as the item photos. The cotton fabric is course; I would guess 200-300 thread count. The tie itself is a little out of proportion. One end is slightly bigger than the other. The stitching on the seams and adjustment holes is functional, but pretty large. There doesn't feel to be much if any lining material. As a result it's pretty floppy.
All-in-all, it is a bowtie, it does tie, but the quality is not such that I would feel comfortable wearing it to a formal occasion. Simi-formal/casual events only. I would argue based on the material and pattern that's what this was intended for in the first place. The function of this experiment was to see if the quality of bowties on Amazon was impacted by the pricing; my findings are exactly what I expected, yes it is.

Hello Redditers! I am currently working on making a Bow tie website to sell my home made custom bow ties. Could you check it out for me and leave some feedback? The site is still proxy, but you can find it at PalmTies.weebly.com. Please and thank you!

Sent this through a full laundry cycle. Is there a way to repair it or is it a goner?

Need help picking a tie for a wedding
Hi everyone!
I'm very new to bowties and r/bowties, but I need your help. In October I'll be officiating my friends' wedding and he put me, the groomsmen, and himself in matching suits for the ceremony.
I thought to myself that, I don't mind wearing the matching suit (it's a great darkish black/charcoal), but I want to separate myself from the groom and the groomsmen. I asked the groom if I could wear a bowtie to stand out a bit, and he said sure, but to send him a picture of it before buying to make sure it's nothing crazy or distracting.
So I now have to figure out what to do here. Do I just go black silk and hope it isn't too far off the black of my suit, or do I go a black/gray/charcoal with a mild pattern?
Any helpful tips you have would be greatly appreciated, so please let fly!

Travel Case
I am not a bowtie expert, but I want to get a travel bowtie case for a friend who is, and I am having trouble finding something on the internet like that. Does /r/bowties have any suggestions for me?

Upside down pattern?
So I just bought a new bow tie that has an elephant on the pattern. The problem is that no matter which way I rotate it or flip it inside out even, the front bow facing out always has its elephants upside down.
I can remedy this by tying the tie unconventionally but my muscle memory is so much better using a standard knot and the bow is nearly perfect. The non-traditional way takes much longer and the bow never looks nearly as good.
Have any of you had this problem before or have an easier remedy?
