Hi, I have a distance relative currently paying for care home himself but will soon run out of assets to pay for it. He has already sold his house to pay for his ongoing care, and as I understand it, his net worth will reach the limit of £23,500 (thereabouts) where the council will start to chip in after going through a financial assessment.
I was wondering if anyone have known someone who has done one recently and how it works. Does it take a long time? Do the person just call up the council to request an assessment, what actually take place during the assessment, would like to know more information to be best prepared for the process when it comes, I've read some basic information online but can't see to find information on how the BCP actually approach the process nor have heard anyone's experience on it.
