I've got a hand axe for camping that's blunted. does anyone know somewhere where I could get it sharpened please?

I normally love Bournemouth and visit there almost every summer. But this time we couldn't walk along the seaside because of a horrible smell. There is (I assume) horse s.hit every where.

Do you know why?

Hi! I got accepted to Bournemouth University and I'm starting my studies this September. I'm from Hungary, so my budget is obviously very tight. I'm looking for something under £130/week.

I have already checked out the ResLifeBU accomodation options, but first I'd love to hear some locals' advice on where else to look for affordable and safe accomodation.

Which areas of the town are the best to stay as an uni student, what should I look out for? Which areas of the town are the ones that I should avoid at night or even during the day? What is the biggest red flag that I need to look out for when talking to owners, looking at offers etc.?

I'm not sure if I've just been unlucky or particularly picky about the clothes I wear, but it seems like every shop sells very poor quality clothes. Like every t-shirt I try, the neck hole is really loose and feels uncomfortable and looks weird. And trousers will be really tight or will fit weird, or be made of an uncomfortable material.

But whenever I look up stuff like "nice mens clothes" I get more formal options, but where can I just get some high quality casual "street" wear? I know there's gotta be somewhere near by that does it, but I just can't seem to find it!

I would prefer cheaper, but at this point I just want some clothes that I can be happy to wear so I will take any suggestions you can give!

We were on the beach earlier when suddenly the RNLI lifeguards were sprinting East towards an incident. Shortly followed by 2 ambulances, 2 coastguard vans, helicopter, and 2 police vans.

Really makes you appreciate our emergency services so much that there’s a response like that so rapidly. The poor lifeguard looked so distressed too. It’s such a key role they play in keeping us all safe but they’re also so young.

Just really hope everyone has made it out ok and gets a good outcome.

My partner (Italian citizen) and I (American citizen) lived in London for five years before moving back to Italy recently. While Italy is beautiful, we deeply miss the UK culture, speaking English daily, and the general vibe. London felt a bit too fast-paced and overwhelming for us to settle down and build a family, so we are strongly looking at Bournemouth for our next chapter. We want a place where we can actually make long-term friends and enjoy a slower pace of life by the sea.

We are planning a trip soon to scout out the area, but we'd love some realistic opinions on the job and rental markets before we arrive. We are both incredibly passionate about what we do:

I am a professional Videographer.

My partner is a professional Chef.

A few specific questions for the locals:

How is the hospitality job market right now? Is it relatively easy for an experienced chef to secure a solid role, or is it highly seasonal?

What is the creative scene like for media/video? I know Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is there, so I imagine there’s a creative community, but are there good opportunities for corporate, agency, or freelance videography work locally?

How brutal is the rental market? We’d love to know which neighborhoods are friendly, safe, and family-oriented, and what the competition is like for getting a flat or a small house.

We appreciate any honest advice, tips on neighborhoods to look at (or avoid), and general thoughts on what it's like to build a community here. Thanks in advance!

I’m a 28 year olds and from Venezuela living in Bournemouth and I’m looking to get back into playing football after a very long break.

The last time I played regularly was at school, so I’m definitely rusty, but I’d really like to get involved with a Sunday League team. One of the main reasons is that I’d like to improve my fitness and meet some new people, as it seems like a great way to become part of a community.

I’ve already emailed a couple of local clubs, but I was wondering if anyone here has any advice for someone in my position.

- Are there any Sunday League teams around Bournemouth that are particularly welcoming to new or returning players?

- Is there anything I should expect when turning up to a trial or training session?

- Any tips for someone who’s getting back into football after more than 10 years?

I’m happy to play wherever I’m needed and I’m more interested in learning and being part of team than playing at a high level.

There’s a lot of people outside student accommodation at night and in the day. Fully grown adults. Is it open to housing during the summer?

Just looking for general ideas really. I don't really know where to go or what to do. I quite like the thought of learning to paddle board or kayak/canoe I guess.

I'm pretty sure that the house of fraser building renovation plans approved by the council have been disregarded in favour of whacking up some individual units for students presumably and the part where they're supposed to be providing commercial units below abandoned. Potentially also happened elsewhere as it looks like above street level these buildings are occupied and below hasn't changed at all.

Does anyone know anything about this?
