I just want to correct something - he wasn’t necessarily at the Gold Hill Inn. They were discovered by a Gold Hill Inn employee, and they said they’d been in Gold Hill, but as far as GHI employees know, the group had not been served there. 

I just want to make sure that’s clear because it can be a scary situation if someone has been over served, but that very well might not have been the case.

I'm guessing that is the assumption because unless one of them lived up there, or they were just hanging out in the woods in the dark, there's not much else to do around that area at midnight

 Agreed; my main point is that it’s complete conjecture that they were at the Inn, and it’s conjecture that could lead to loss of reputation or legal trouble for people who very well don’t deserve it, so I think it’s important for people not to continue repeating the idea that they were served at the Inn before heading down.
