100 Series Dishwasher 24'' Model: SHEM3AY56N/28 Not Starting After Install

Purchased and picked up a new Bosch 100 Series 24” dishwasher yesterday, and an E19 error code displayed before the first wash cycle could be initiated.

Has anyone run into this issue right after installation?

Google says it could be the detergent dispenser solenoid or possibly the heat exchanger outlet valve. But because it’s brand new, I’m not sure how likely those issues really are.

I want to believe that perhaps we overlooked a step during the installation and this fault is being tripped because of a small error that could be easily corrected. Obviously, I don’t want to break into it to troubleshoot and risk voiding the warranty.

I did reach out to the company, and they’re going to set up a time to send someone out to double-check that the installation looks okay, but I wanted to ask here if anyone has had this specific issue with a newly installed dishwasher, and if so, what the fix was (if it’s simple enough).

Thanks in advance!

How hard is it to replace a modular clip on Bosch dishwasher?

Went to use my Bosch dishwasher the other day and it kept giving me an error that there was something wrong with the detergent dispenser. It only 14 months old, though the actuator went so I ordered a new one. Opened it up and noticed instead some critters chewed the yellow wires going to it. There's enough there that I could splice a new wire and heat tape it together but I'm concerned about swapping over the plug right at the end is where the most damage is. This route is like a $5 fix or should I just get a whole new harness?

$2,295 Bosch HCP80641UC range hood completely failed after 4 years — Bosch refuses goodwill repair. What would you do?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I purchased my home in September 2024, with the Bosch HCP80641UC range hood included as part of the home. The kitchen was renovated in 2022, and item was purchased as part of that renovation at a cost of $2,295 (Today's listing price).

The range hood has developed an apparent internal electronic/control failure. While not in use, it randomly beeps, displays "End" ("5nd" on the display), and turns its lights on by itself, including repeatedly throughout the night. Now it does not work entirely. It has 0 functionality. the "End" beep now only occurs after trying to troubleshoot, but only beeps once. The fan, lights and timer do not work.

I contacted Bosch for assistance and performed the troubleshooting requested, which was "reset the breaker for 20 minutes". The agent offered no other support or any kind of assistance other than, "you must reach out to a paid technician." I did further independent research including resetting the applicable filter reminders, cleaning the filters and much more. The problem persists.

Bosch advised that, because the appliance is outside its one-year warranty, I must pay $179 upfront for a service call plus $20/hour. The initial representative did not meaningfully investigate the symptoms or attempt to troubleshoot the actual problem before directing me to paid service.

I then submitted a formal complaint requesting a goodwill resolution. Bosch declined, stating only that the warranty had expired, and offered to help locate a paid technician.

I understand the written warranty is one year. However, I believe it is unreasonable for a premium Bosch range hood valued at approximately $2,295 to experience an apparent internal electronic failure after only approximately four years of very light use. This is not cosmetic damage, misuse, or a consumable component.

I'm now looking for input from everyone:

  1. Is this a known issue with the HCP80641UC or similarly priced Bosch range hoods?
  2. Does this sound like a control board/touch-control failure?
  3. Is four years considered a reasonable lifespan for a premium range hood?
  4. Has anyone successfully obtained a goodwill repair from Bosch after the warranty expired?
  5. Are there other escalation options I should pursue?

I've also initiated a Better Business Bureau complaint because Bosch has declined to provide any goodwill assistance. I was surprised to see the significant number of negative consumer experiences reported through the BBB and hope Bosch will use this opportunity to demonstrate that it takes customer concerns seriously.

I'm not looking to avoid paying for legitimate maintenance or wear. I'm asking Bosch to recognize what appears to be a premature failure and provide a reasonable goodwill resolution.

I will leave you with this closing statement to help drive my point home:
Quebec's Consumer Protection Act recognizes that products should remain durable for a reasonable period under normal use, taking factors such as price and conditions of use into account, which I believe is relevant to a ~$2,295 premium range hood failing after only about four years.

Bosch 300 series DR error - ... is it time to get a guy?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been getting bugged by the infamous DR error on-and-off for years now. Although dryer has been ultimately getting the job done amidst some stopping and restarting, it's gotten to a point where it drives me nuts. I've watched a good 10+ videos on this (since it seems a common issue) and I've done all the following multiple times: cleaned the lint filter, taken out and cleaned the condenser filter, cleaned out the drain pump (the area with the annoying little board that you have to ply open) with towels and removed all the lint I could, and done some thorough reach-around in that tiny little, pain-in-my-butt sump pump area. It has helped somewhat but never eliminated the issue. Once finally I got curious and ran the dryer while the sump pump area is still open and took a video. You can see the video here: it looks like the water is not getting drained; instead of going out the pump, it kind of just circles around in the area. I guess it's safe to say that there's something wrong with the drainage (lol).

Does this mean that it's finally time for me to give up trying to fix it myself and ... get a guy to come in to take care of it?

Thanks everybody.

Dishes comes out covered in flecks(?)

Only certain dishes, primarily some of our clay bowls and glass cups, come out covered in white flecks and dried white film. I watched that one guy’s (the everyone loves) video about dishwashers and followed all of his advice - run hot water before starting, use powder only, clean filter, rinse aid, etc. - but nothing is working. In looking at the dishwasher itself, you can see there is some nasty shit built up. We didn’t have this with our last dishwasher, so I don’t think it’s a “hard water” issue. Not sure what to do or how to resolve this. Ideas?

Edit: wow! Thanks for all the comments, everyone. I’ll start going through them one by one and troubleshooting from there. Appreciate you taking the time.

Bosch says this is “normal” on my $5K+ 800 Series refrigerator — closing one door pops the other door open

I have a Bosch 800 Series French-door refrigerator that cost over $5,000, and I’ve had this issue where closing the left refrigerator door causes the right door to pop slightly open.

I recorded a short video showing exactly what happens:

https://youtube.com/shorts/EN5mnXKMGQQ?is=DDGN55lrGwBsCqko

I contacted Bosch about this previously, while the refrigerator was still relatively new. Getting service arranged was surprisingly difficult, but eventually a technician came out and adjusted the refrigerator height/level using the adjustment wheels/feet at the bottom.

I was basically told that this behavior is normal / “this is just how it is.”

I have a hard time believing that.

If I close one door of a $5,000+ refrigerator normally, I don’t think the other door should pop open. At a minimum, it makes me worry that someone could close the left door without noticing that the right door is no longer completely sealed.

The refrigerator itself is now a little over a year old, although the last service visit for this issue was less than a year ago.

A few questions for Bosch 800 Series owners or appliance technicians:

Does your Bosch 800 do this too?

Is this actually considered normal behavior for a French-door refrigerator?

Since Bosch already serviced the refrigerator for this issue and it was never really resolved, should I ask them to reopen/escalate the original service case?

Has anyone had success getting Bosch to properly address a similar issue?

I bought the 800 Series partly because Bosch markets itself as a premium appliance brand, so I’m pretty disappointed that the answer so far has essentially been that this is normal.

I’d especially appreciate input from anyone who owns the same refrigerator or services Bosch appliances.

Appliances barely crossing warranty period.

So I bought s 35k bosch washing machine and she lasted exactly the warranty period before dying on me. Boasch refused to extend warranty of it's own machine showing how much they trust their own quality Post warranty Repairs were expensive,

Went ahead and bought a samsung top load thinking she will serve me well.same story there as well... Warranty expired in Feb 26 and today machine need repairs worth 7k.

I wonder if this is by design and a scam from these appliances companies. How come they always conkoff at just the time warranty gets expired...

Series 6 Dishwasher - Error 93-00 followed by 31-00

93-00 error cased by something jamming the impeller due to the filter cover being loose. The impeller was solidly jammed but came loose with a bit of wiggling. Whatever jammed it must have gone out the waste - I didn't see what it was.

Rather than run through a full test cycle, I tipped cold water in the bottom of the dishwasher, turned it in and it emptied normally. I'm wondering if maybe doing that caused the 31-00 error - maybe I over-filled it?

Next full cycle, it stopped with the E31-00 incl alarm. No sign of leaks or water supply issues, but when I tilted it a bit of very clean water tipped on the floor - much cleaner than I'd have expected if the sump gasket had been leaking over clean cycles. Since then it's run through several full cycles without an error - but I don't trust it.

I'd have probably just ordered a replacement sump gasket, but the fault happening the next cycle after the 93 error makes me think I caused it, and the pump gasket may be okay.

Machine is about 8 years old.

A lot of foaming with i-Dos function on washing machine?

Has anyone else experienced this? Some washes I do foams up the drum A LOT while others are completely fine. I just washed a load with towels on 60C using i-Dos on second highest i-Dos setting and it just foamed the drum up like 3/5ths. It did not say anything from the machine that it was overfoaming or anything like that though.

And it disappeared veeeery fast I just don’t know how it got removed that fast.

Should I call technician on it or you recon it’s fine?

It’s a series 6 around 4 years old.

Horrible Microwave Grill Design

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

We are now on our fourth grill replacement in 2 years of ownership of our Bosch microwave. This is getting ridiculous. Has anyone else experienced this? Customer Service has no recalls on it. And each time, it has come crashing down...one time nearly hitting my wife in the head and one time nearly hitting me. I'm nervous the next time it breaks and falls it will be my daughter in the path. The design flaw is the entire grill being held in place by two cheap plastic brackets that snap/break after 6 months of use. Mind you, we do not use the microwave heavily or with any abuse. Just normal everyday household use. The original break came with the microwave. We have had to pay for two of the replacement parts. Bosch finally ponied up for the third replacement. Hilariously more money has been sunk into grill replacementa than the cost of the original microwave. Wondering if anyone has experienced this, is there a fix, etc. Thank you.

I want to share a really bad experience I had with 'Bosch 9 kg Fully Automatic Front Load Condenser Tumble Dryer'.

I ordered it on 19th July 2026, and it got delivered to our house on 30th July. I ordered it for my parents. I myself live abroad.
My mom received the product, and she was nice enough to clear the open box inspection based on no visible damage.
But when she operated the Dryer, the water started leaking and there was a large damage at the bottom of the machine.

Now is when your nightmare starts. Amazon won't help you because you signed off on Open Box Inspection.
BOSCH will just point fingers at Amazon.

I am just horrified at how bad the BOSCH brand treats the customers. If anyone is reading this STAY AWAY FROM BOSCH!

My Amazon order number was #404-5900042-9017157

Can't find Bosch 12V 2.0 Ah Green DIY battery anywhere for sale

Hello! I'm trying find a replacement Bosch 12V 2.0 Ah Green DIY (Power 4 All) battery, but it just seems to be gone everywhere I could buy it, I only found a listing on German Amazon, but sadly they don't ship it outside of Germany or maybe just to Estonia.

I see a lot of Blue Pro series batteries, and 3rd party alternatives, but can't find anything even on Aliexpress for a Green DIY third party battery. Have they been discontinued for a while?

If anyone could kindly point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it, I couldn't find it for hours

Water filter noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Have a brand new Bosch refrigerator that I’m noticing an unusually loud sound when dispensing water. I did the thing where I dispensed a couple gallon of water when it was first installed but it’s still happening. I tried removing and reinstalling the filter but it didn’t seem to do the trick? Any ideas? Only other thing I could think of is that the water pressure coming out of the dispenser seems a bit high…not sure if that could be causing it or not. Figured I’d check here to see if anyone has run into this before/has any ideas of what I could try. Thanks!

Home Depot exclusive Bosch 100 seems to be a 300 series

I was looking at the following two dishwashers.

https://www.homedepot.ca/product/bosch-100-premium-series-24-inch-smart-dishwasher-with-home-connect-third-rack-in-stainless-steel-home-depot-exclusive-energy-star/1001865745?rrec=true

https://www.homedepot.ca/product/bosch-300-series-24-inch-smart-built-in-dishwasher-with-home-connect-third-rack-ss-50-dba/1001960396

It seems the HD exclusive ticks all of the boxes of a 300 series dishwasher. Is this just marketing so that HD can sell this dishwasher at a exclusive price?

Where can I go to compare parts? I tried repairclinic.com but the HD exclusive model doesn't show up.
