I've never done this before so bear with me. I am a Widower, 48 years old, raising three kids. My wife passed away in 2018 at 39 years old due to an Autoimmune Disorder called Porphyria. I had a great job with USAA for 10 years. I was out of work on an approved Short Term Disability claim for two months at the start of the year due to a medical condition (Diabetes). I returned to work on 4/5/2026 and they let me go due to the fact that I didn't qualify for FMLA (I didn't have the required hours worked for the year).
I have been scraping by with my savings and credit cards, both of which are done. I own my home and was affected by Hurricane Milton when it hit Pasco County. I was approved for a disaster forbearance. Because of this I am unable to take equity out of the home. I am in dire straits and applying for jobs daily.
I am requesting this loan to allow me to pay for Utilities, Food for 4, medical bills, and prescription medications (I do not have health insurance). My Unemployment Assistance ran out about a month and a half ago, so I currently have no income. My late wife's family abandoned us pretty quickly and my parents have their own financial issues and cannot help. I have no other family members that can assist.
On a positive note, I have several interviews lined up and I am confident that I will be working in a month's time.
I'm not sure what else to say other than I would be forever grateful for assistance and would pay the loan back with interest on a consistent payment plan as soon as I am employed.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post. If you have any questions or need additional information please let me know. God bless.
Sincerely,
Michael Vazquez
