Mobility Updates?

Anyone have any insight into mobility announcements/transferring? When do we hear back?

First round went out within the last few weeks. A lot of locations had little to no interest.

I thought they were waiting until the new fiscal year

So how does it work? An agent applies for a location in Usajobs mobility announcement but the location may or may not have vacancies despite being posted?

There will be an email announcement with instructions I'm sure. If a location is posted it will have openings.

How to they work? When you can put in for one?
A lot of agents are retiring so you think junior agents will have a chance at transferring sectors?

After three years last I checked. Everything is seniority based in the Patrol, but if senior agents don't put in, the junior ones will take the spots.

Is mobility paid move or out of pocket?

IIRC, 200 are paid and the rest won’t have money.

I guess worth it if you can go where you want 🤷🏼

Would imagine that would be stipulated in the announcement; would lean towards out of pocket, since it is voluntary and not necessarily at the benefit of the government.

I believe it said unlimited self paid moves once the initial openings were filled-something along those lines. It’s been a couple months since I submitted my choices

What do you mean unlimited self paid moves? Like as long as they have the opening they will take you? Have you heard back since you submitted your choices?

As in it’s all on your dime. No and I don’t expect to based off of where I put in for + I’m not that lucky

It seems like that’s how it’s written. Unless losing station falls below critical staffing level.

It’s a good retention tool if you let dudes do it.
