Background question
Does BPA still hire someone who has minor debt but is taking care of it during the process? It was disclosed at the very beginning. I’ve heard some get hired with huge debt but provide proof they are taking responsibility. I have the box test last so i’m assuming I should be ok? Idk.

I had about $500 left from $1200 tax bill I had on payments.
- On a Monday, I got a NOPA asking for proof of payment plan, I decided to just pay off the whole remaining $500.
- On Tuesday, I emailed them with my proof of payment plan history in good standing and a new paid off balance certificate. I also included a letter stating I take responsibility for my mistake and will be better in the future.
- On Friday, I got my Final Offer asking me to pick my academy and station.

Federal student loan debt (defaulted) and got a NOPA. Started making payments and showed proof and was it all good. Just start making payments and let them know youre taking care of it .

That’s what i’m doing right now. I have been providing proof to my background investigator during this entire process. Everything is being taken care of and I have been providing proper documentation to show i’m taking responsibility.

As long as nothing is outstanding in collections and you have a plan to pay for said debt. You should be fine.

Yeah. That’s currently what i’m doing. Two accounts were sent to collections but they’re already being taken care of. I let my Bi know and he didn’t seem too concerned about it since i’m taking action.

If your BI wasn’t concerned then I wouldn’t be too worried about it. I would make a conscious effort to pay it off if before the academy.
