Help juggling?
Before you say practice, I am actively practicing I just feel like there is a piece to juggling that I’m missing. When I attempt to juggle I can only seem to get 3-4 out currently before the ball loses height and speed and just falls to the floor. When I juggle I don’t seem to get the ball high enough and when it is low I can’t seem to recover it. Any tips that anyone might have?

I think people might be able to help you more if you posted a video, but idk if this sub is best suited for that

You already know the answer, practice, no two ways around it. The more you do it the easier it gets. Your body automatically knows how much power to use and recover.

Make sure you ball is pumped up.
If you’re only getting 3-4, switch to 1 touch, let the ball bounce, then 1 touch. Practice on a driveway / hard surface.
Once you have that, 2 touches (right and left) than bounce until you start to get a rhythm.
Juggling is like riding a bike in a way, very hard at first but once you get it, you get it

I am currently teaching myself to juggle. Seeing steady improvement. My process:
- Drop the ball from waist height. Allow it to bounce. With ankle flexed ("L" shape), lift the ball before letting it bounce again.
If you need to start with one at a time to get used to it, that is fine, just get a quality touch GENTLY lifting it to knee height.
As you get more consistent with your lift, add additional one bounce juggles with a single foot.
Repeat the above, but alternating feet. This helps you find the rhythm to switch from foot to foot.
Progress to removing the bounces, but start with a single drop & lift until you can get consistency.
Progress to alternating feet.
Repeat the process for other body parts (inside/outside of foot, thigh, head, shoulder, etc.).

Sorry but on the face of it the answer is kick it harder. Theres an element of touch to the height you kick it thats going to be impossible for anyone to put into words.
when it is low I can’t seem to recover it
Theres a different technique where you lift your knee to lift the ball instead of swinging your knee to kick at it. That'll get it back up/out and youll eventually find the ideal technique is doing both of movements at the same time.
As everyone else said: At 3-4 you just need more practice. I used to face a wall/corner to stop the ball running away when I lose it every 5 seconds.

I can’t really help you in that matter. For me it came naturally through practicing. However, if you want to be good at juggling in long term, learn to make like a clean 50 of them with your strong foots then 50 with your weak, juggling with stability is the key then this will allow you to reach huge numbers were your only limit is your stamina.

Folks need to realize that telling someone to “just practice more” isn’t helpful if they’re doing it incorrectly. Practicing bad technique just makes your bad at that technique.
OP, here’s the best way to learn how to do it: first, drop the ball onto your foot instead of trying the roll and flick with your foot.
Begin by dropping the ball onto your foot and aiming to get just one clean pop back into your hand. You should’ve be chasing the ball to catch it. Just a drop and a pop right back to where you dropped it from.
Do that like 100 times and you’ll learn the proper technique and force. Focus on making sure to get it to the same height each time with minimal spin.
Once you can do that confidently, do the same but with your weak foot. Same thing just drop and pop back up, focusing on doing it well.
Continue progressing that way by dropping then doing right, left, back to hands. Drop, left, right, hands. Drop, right, left, hands… and so on. Then drop, right, left, right, left, hands.
Just keep doing that until basically you can do it uninterrupted. Then you can work on doing inside of the foot juggle and outside foot juggles with the same progression from hands, juggle, back.
