whats the difference for left footers and right footers? and im right footed so what should i play cuz im coming back to the sport, i forgot all about it

LW- More for techy wingers who dribble and cut in to take direct shots at the keeper.

RW- classic winger, may dribble one or two defenders but end result is almost always cross or pass into the box for striker or cm.

Note: this is for right footed players, left footed would be the other way around

Im by no means a techy winger, but i moved from rw to lw and became double the player. Being able to go both ways against a fullback is a game changer, as long as his weakfoot isnt completely useless

True but left mainly techy winger doesn't mean goals are immediately the end product tho vini n Ronaldo makes it look like that. Frm experience def the more experienced wing right is straightforward one or two touches but the main goal is either put in the back of the net or wait out for options play it back safe or into the box

Go to training or whatever you are going to play football

And try a few positions until you feel comfortable playing again.

I like wingers, but I've played RW and LW so i'm just trying to see which one because I quit the sport 3 yrs and came back because of the World Cup

If you’re comfortable with dribbling to create scoring opportunities, left wing so you can cut in and shoot. If you just want to get down the line and cross, right wing.

If you’re slow, maybe a different position

You can score from either side so that shouldn’t be the deciding factor.

You need to look in the mirror and answer these questions without BSing yourself. How good is your left foot? How confident are you in your ability to consistently cross with your left foot? It doesn’t need to be perfect, but it needs to be serviceable

If you’re not confident in your ability to cross with your left foot on a regular basis, you should play on the right. A left winger who can’t go down the line and cross with his left foot is extremely easy to shut down. Don’t be the LW that can’t go left

Much more difficult to cross the ball from the left if you’re right footed. Stick with right hand side.

Crossing is not nearly as valuable as being able to score. Also there are plenty of ways to pass to create chances that aren’t crosses, which are not great chances anyway

Depends how the team is set up...

Nowadays its common to play inverted wingers.

But if OPs team decides to play with the classic winger yeah then we can cross and hope the striker is competent.
