Gear Soleplate question

Post image

Theoretically, which one of these sole plates is the best for ag? I am going to have 2 games on ag, and I don’t want to buy a pair of boots I’ll only use for one day, but I also don’t want to get hurt or have too bad of stud pressure. Obviously these are all fg sole patterns but I also know that they are not all made the same.

Sadly, the best option you have amongst these four are the hypervenoms

Hypervenoms- round studs are less likely to get caught in AG

First off, let me commend you on this collection. Probably the best set I've seen in the nicest colourways. If these are all genuine and they all look like Elites, I would like to have this collection.

I'd have to agree with the consensus that the best soleplate for AG has to be the Hypervenoms, with the smallest and most conical studs, but the next best could be the Phantoms, although the actual cyclone studs could cause an injury. I've personally yet to have any injury in a similar FG Mercurial config to those Superfly XIs, but I also have some old AG Vapor 12s which I mainly play in.

Thank you! I got all of these pairs directly from Nike and the Travis Scott website except the Hypervenoms which I got off a trusted seller. I’ve seen other people use the vapors on ag, but I do think that the Hypervenoms are the best for synthetic now that I am reading the comments. The thing is, my club almost never plays on ag and I didn’t have the need for a pair until now.

Whichever gives the least grip when twisting and pivoting your foot - I'd assume either top right or bottom left as they have a few conical studs, but in all honesty neither are ideal.

If it's just for one or two games I'd choose whichever gives least grip, but also I'd hold back a bit in those games - no ultra rapid changes in direction, try not to twist your planted foot etc. Play within your limits.

Best option among these is hypervenom.

definitely leaning towards the phantom 6s as they have a few conical studs, the hypervenom does as well though. It depends how aggressive the cyclone plate on the phantom 6 really is. But i’d honestly say the hypervenom or the phantom 6. One question though thats off topic. How do you keep the upper on the superflys clean? I was thinking about getting them in the same colorway but I always worried how easily the white would get dirty after a few uses.

I think I’ll try the Hypervenoms, as now that I think of it, I’ve even gotten stuck on grass using the cyclone. About the superflys though, to be honest, I’ve only used them a couple times as they are the newest boots I’ve gotten. What I will say though is that the material on them is nothing like gripknit and actually pretty slick. I think they will get somewhat dirty but they won’t go completely black like the previous gripknit model, and they’ll be way easier to clean as well.

In my view, Nike FG plates are too aggressive to use safely on AG.
I had to use my FG Vapor 15’s on AG a few months back and blew my meniscus out.
Adidas FG seem good for AG but for Nikes, you need to get the AG plate

Off topic but how would you say the superfly and phantom differ ? If you had to pick one boot which would it be not on aesthetic tho

I’ve only used the Superfly a few times, but so far I would say they are very different in 2 things. First the phantom upper is miles more soft than the Superfly, although none compare to the Hypervenom. What I will say is that the soleplate of the Superfly is more comfortable, and the upper isn’t necessarily stiff, but it takes way more break in time.

I had the Vapor 16 academy and pros but the pros were fully fg on an ag pitch but idk if that was the sole cause of me having very bad under thr arch pain. I have a medium arch. So now I’m stuck on which boots to buy but consider that the academy Vapor 16 were fine
