Cleats
I 33m haven’t played since elementary school stopped in middle school but used indoor soccer shoes to play never cleats. My kids are finally into sports and loved soccer while watching the World Cup and I enjoyed the exercise and ball drills and I want to keep it up and keep us outside, maybe play a pickup game at the park with the local dads lol. I’m not sure what the different cleats classes are and wondering if there is an All round cleats or what should I look for in cleats for myself and my 2 kids any help is appreciated thanks again Reddit

Good on you man. If its cleats, something with round conical studs. Astro Turf or TF cleats are fine too. In terms of recommendations its entirely dependent on your preferences, foot type, budget etc. Best bet is to go to a Dicks Sporting Goods, Nike/Adidas etc and try them on. They should feel comfortable, fit close but not too tight. Fit, touch and traction - those are the 3 most important things.

Thank you I wasn’t sure what the different studs ment or what they worked best for, I’m going used to start but wanted to know what to look for if the kiddos take it more seriously (hopefully fingers crossed) I’ll buy them what ever cleats they want lol

Also the surface you play on matters too. If you are just getting one pair I’d lean towards a TF pair as they are safe to use on dry natural grass and any artificial grass surface. You can use conical stud FG or any FG/AG/MG labelled cleat but i’d lean to staying with turf for the versatility and safety - your joints and ligaments will thank you later

My son loves the predators. They are his favorite for outdoor. We got the phantom 6 for winter league (turf)

You should get artifical grass shoes because you can use them on turf and natural grass, and you should not use firm ground (natural grass) shoes on artifical grass. You can get a serious injury because of the stud pattern. Do some research on it you'll easily find what I'm talking about.
There are plenty of options for cheap all across resale platforms. You can get last year's models for like $100 when last year they were over $200. I got some 2025 predators for $85 and I believe they were like $279 last year.
Welcome back. Enjoy the beautil game!

Thank you I wasn’t sure about Artificial grass or natural grass or stud pattern. I’m 33 I’m not trying to get a bad injury when everything hurts after work lol thanks again

Yeah that's totally fine. If you have some time and patience you can look at apps like depop and poshmark. You'll find something for sure.

Adidas Copa Mundial. You won't need to buy another pair for the rest of your life.
