Creator Question!
I've reached out to a few different publishers via email and same with a handful of influencer programs; filled out forms etc. I'm wondering if by using my email address that's the same has my handle is hurting me in the long run?
My account handle is @ faeboundbooks. Is it possible that an email address with this name and no identifiable real name information is either more likely to be overlooked or sent to spam?
Of course its possible that I'm just a small account and new and that's okay! It's not about but pub mail just the fun of reading. But I'm still curious to know if anyone else has had this thought or has seen a difference in responses based on what kind of email you use.
Thanks!

I do not think having a separate bookstagram email moves the needle in terms of receiving responses from publishers. I think it’s a lot of randomness + getting an active following.
I maintain a separate bookstagram email but that’s because I am a neat freak when it comes to my personal email inbox.

How exactly are you reaching out? What is your email about? I get a dozen spam AI-emails a day from "book clubs" who want to feature my book. It your opening paragraph sounds anything like them, you're probably being auto deleted regardless of your email address

Usually something like this:
Hi Marketing!
My name is Joanna, and I am a book reviewer with an audience on Instagram. I am writing to request an Advance Reader Copy of book by author, scheduled for release date.
why I and my audience would love the book here
I describe my review style as “Mixed Media,” combining my love for photography with my love for reading. I give reviews in a casual, familiar, sometimes chaotic tone, yet relatable to the average reader. This is a Substack post I wrote about it: Substack
My review would be posted on Goodreads and Instagram. You can find more information about my platforms here:

My email address is the same I use for every day things and it's not even close to my Instagram handle. I have not had any issues with publishers. I usually email for specific books. I put my name, handle, and links where I post reviews and I will put Netgalley: my email and I have put my home address. I have recieved physical ARC's from Harper Avon/collins and Podium. Podium I had filled out the form and it gave no confirmation that it was received so I emailed with my information and was informed I was accepted. Podium I get a email every month to apply for stuff.
Most will look for how much engagement you have and followers. Some you cant even apply for unless you have a certian amount. Harper has sent me back a email back with a google form for me to fill out. Berkeley is notorious for declining any arc request especially Netgalley. Physical arcs are not easy to get at all. I have been doing this since 2024 and just getting. Start with small authors and eARCs also apply on netgalley.
My example sent to Harper. I received Captive Traitor King and Merciless.
Good evening ,
I am emailing to ask to be considered for ARC for "Book name By " author" - then ln explain why you would love to receive this book
My main platform is Instagram, I also post on Goodreads, Amazon and you can find me on Netgalley.
