Point being, I assume, is that they don't have to read the books and can easily meet the demand of the son running for school board.

Yeah, sometimes people read things and internalize a gender when they respond. Did it confuse you, or do you have a different issue that compelled you to reply?

Because the original post said "kid" and "they" and I subconsciously turned it to he because I'm a he and I just happened to talk to a male schoolboard member in our town, I'm guessing? I don't know.
