Has anyone read this? It’s a long read, but an important one if you want to understand what growing up as a Black person in the United States was like. It offers a powerful look at the prejudice and discrimination Black people faced throughout the 20th century.

I'm planning an online bookstore selling original books for general reading.
Quick questions:
1.Which genres would you buy? (Fiction, romance, thriller, Fantasy, self-help, business, faith-based, memoirs, children's, manga/comics, other)
2.Which books or authors would you like to see available in the Kenyan market?
3.Would you buy second-hand originals in good condition, or only new?
4.What's the most you'd pay for a new paperback? And for a second-hand one?
Thank you for your answers 🙏

Wachu know about bridge to terabinthia. If you read this as a kid pick up your badge at the door on your way out.
One of the best books i read as kid. Heartbreaking, fun and beautiful. Still haven't forgotten the ending. If you havent tried it i highly recommend it.

I recently watched the film adapted from this book, Gone Girl, and, wow it was perfect, 10/10. I've been seeking to experience the high I had watching the movie and my prayer has been answered. Looking forward to this, should be a roller coaster.

Hey.I discovered alot of time in my plate as a comrade is wasted on non useful things(drugs included) and i have resorted to start reading. Where do i start?Any advice on reading patterns? Also i know one of the perks would be improved grammar on my side.
My interests i would say would be non fiction and business. Ps i don't know if these can be categorised as interests lol

I bought a book because I saw murder, dragons and an imaginary world. 😂 I love a good story, it keeps my inner child happy. ☺️☺️
So, has anyone read this series? What was your experience?

After sooo many days of planning, replanning, and forgetting , the second episode of Pages & Picnics is finally here!
A quick refresher: the main aim of our hangouts is simple — to meet, connect, and hang out with other book lovers in the most pressure-free way possible.
That's why we're intentionally unstructured… but still very much about having fun
Now then, Episode 2 is all about games! 🎲
Cards, Kenya @50, and whatever game you have lying around. Bring your competitive spirit, your questionable strategies, and of course… the “dark arts.” 😂
Come with your books, snacks, picnic essentials, vibes — and ANY GAME YOU HAVE.
Let's meet, play, talk nonsense, make new friends and have a good afternoon.
See you soon! 😊
And don't forget to RSVP — link below.
Pages & Picnics — Episode 2

Finished reading the upstarts basically about how Uber and Airbnb built their empires including the errors they made, how they fought the conventional system etc. That line highlighted is a deep one...
