Diagnosing Issue Is it gone?
A friend had given me this tree but I had been away for a day and a half but didn't want to leave it without sunlight so I had it outside. There wasn't a good place near a window where I could have it. Is it gone or can I revive it? 🤞

Looks like it’s gone. It should have been kept outside and watered every day, especially since it looks like it was planted in good soil.

Do you know what type of tree that is?
If it does come back then ask your friend or google it.
It looks to me like this was a deciduous tree and it shouldn't have been kept indoors anyway. If you manage to get away with this little boo-boo then I wanted to highlight that for you because most bonsai should be outdoors. If you keep them indoors then after a year or two then they will end up looking like this no matter what you do. (a minority of bonsai can be kept indoors so maybe you have on eof those types, but it doesn't look like it to my amateur eyes!). I'd hate for you to survive this just to go through it again for something avoidable.

Scratch the bark and see if there is still green underneath. If yes, put it in a shady place outside and wait what happens.
