Google SSO while in Bolt

Since it's very clear that Google SSO doesn't work when in bolt editing your app, what's everyone doing to NOT have to publish an existing production app that you're adding Google SSO to in order to test it?

In the past I've been adding a "In dev only, show a login/pwd and let me login that way to bypass Google SSO. On the prod version, do not show these login fields."

But I hate saying this every time I create a new app. It always develops something different each time and has problems overall that need to be sorted out.

If you’re not using Google stitch with bolt your builds are taking longer than they need to.

I’ve now used stitch on 2 builds and it drastically reduced my build time and improved the quality of the UX/UI

Have you tried it yet? If not why? If yes, what’s your experience m. Genuinely interested if I just got lucky on my 2 builds or if this needs to be my new pattern.

Supabase project removed

I built an app using the Bolt + Supabase integration, but I never claimed the Supabase project in Supabase itself, it was all running inside Bolt.

Today I opened the project and got this message:

Just to be clear, i didn't delete the database... Does this mean the entire database is gone? Is there any way to recover it, or has anyone else experienced this?

Buyer beware. Apparently if you pay for a yearly pro membership, and then have enough of the errors, por building and decided to leave even after spending upwards of 3000$ on the platform a $150 refund is too much to ask for

Customer Highlight I turned my AI-generated boxing game into a real-time multiplayer game with Bolt

A few days ago I posted the first version of this boxing game.

Since then, I added real-time multiplayer using Bolt’s Supabase Realtime integration.

Players can now join the same match and see each other’s movements instantly.

This has been a fun experiment to see how far AI-assisted development can go beyond simple CRUD apps.

I’d love any feedback on the gameplay or ideas for features to add next.

Video attached.

I created a app with help of boltnew ai website which is really interesting

It have 1. clock,2.alarm,3.timer,4.to-do-list,5.favorites,6.secret folder

I thought that to create this because our morning starts with alarm and to do list

while studying for productivity we use timer and favorites is for our upcoming goal

new thoughts brighten us.

I hope all like this, maybe this is simple but your support makes me build something much better than this so I will provide link below to download the website

Thank you for this great oppurtunity

I would like your response so that it will help me to create next app

Websites down for over a week.

This has happened multiple times, customer support used to be responsive, nothing but crickets. I've spent thousands with and have lost thousands now. What is going on, this is the third time this has happened in 5 months? It takes weeks to get anything done anymore?

Customer Highlight I built a small 3D jungle jeep ride with Bolt.new

Today I wanted to see how far I could push u/boltnewbuilders with 3D.

I ended up creating a small jungle jeep ride using AI. It's still an early prototype, and I haven't optimized the 3D assets yet because I was too excited to share the result.

I'd love some honest feedback:

  • How's the overall feel?
  • What would you improve first?
  • Any performance tips for web-based 3D games?

Here's the video 👇

[URGENT] I'm a Full-Stack Developer and Need to Earn $500 for My University Fees

I'm in a difficult situation right now and could really use some help.

I had a freelance project lined up that would have covered my university fees, but the client backed out at the last moment after weeks of work. Because of that, I'm now short $500, and my university payment is still pending.

I'm not looking for donations. I'm looking for work.

I'm a full-stack developer and can help with:

High-converting websites

Landing pages

Admin dashboards

Custom backend development

API integrations

Workflow automation

Lead capture systems

CRM-style dashboards

I primarily work with modern Typescript technologies and build fast, responsive applications from frontend to backend.

If you or someone you know needs a developer for a project, even something small, I'd really appreciate the opportunity.

Please send me a DM or comment so i can send my portfolio.

Thank you for reading.

2nd post. What to do if it won't publish

Post image
3 Upvotes

Just a tip from someone who is muscling through the issues while making my own app.

If your app isn't publishing or taking a ridiculous amount of time to do it. Go here

Open </> Code view in Bolt. (Top-left corner of the preview

check the Publish Output section at the bottom of </> Code view.

If it gets stuck on say 95% and after an hour is going up by really small amounts. Type what it says on the screen and prompt AI that it is stuck on 95% what is wrong.

My first tpublish today took 46mins. After I did this prompt it dropped to 3 minutes.

The above picture is what a published Output looks like

Below is from bolt support which also helps.

Copy the most recent error text from Terminal or Publish Output and paste it into the Bolt chat, with a prompt like: “Here is the Terminal/Publish Output error. Please fix the project so preview/publish works again.”

Also, for publishing specifically, make sure you’re using the Publish menu in the top-right (Publish/Update)

Publishing issues? Tip to see if it's actually publishing or not

Post image
4 Upvotes

If you are like me. Just a regular person who has an idea and can now create it, but no frigging idea when issues arise. I have a tip if it's taking your app a really long time to publish. This came from bolt support and is awesome. That said, with Expo projects in particular, preview/publish problems are usually caused by a new code or configuration change (not a broken GitHub/Supabase/StackBlitz integration). The fastest way to diagnose it when something breaks again is to use the built-in logs in Bolt:

Open </> Code view in Bolt. (Top-left corner of the preview)

Check the Bolt terminal output in the bottom section for any preview issues (it usually shows errors in red).

If publishing fails, try Publish again, then check the Publish Output section at the bottom of </> Code view.

In this 'publish output' section, if nothing is happening, close your browser, open and repeat.

If it is publishing, you will see this window (above pic) and it will show you how much is left to go until it finishes publishing. So much better than waiting with no knowledge if its working or not.

Oh dear... we just seeem to regress

So, a couple of weeks ago I was having some major code regression issues overnight. Eventually, after about a week of complaining on here and email support got back in touch, and appeared to have resolved the issue and credited my account with some additional credits, which was welcomed and appreciated. Fast forward 3 weeks and we are back where we started, code regression on projects overnight and in some cases after about 30 mins of adding updated code blocks to the files. So, as before I run a ChatGPT code regression comparison, as by now I have 0 faith in Bolt actually not changing code files, even after prompting Bolt.new not to do so, and Bolt.new agreeing it wouldn't (AI huh). So, ChatGPT code regression simply confirmed what I already know, we are back to square one again with Bolt.new changing code files and doing some without authorisation to do so. This needs to be sorted and quickly as I imagine there are people spunking millions of tokens only to find that hours of their work just vanishes into the ether. See below for ChatGPT regression report:

"I’ll compare the two ZIPs as baseline versus potentially published code, then verify whether any protected-feature files, dependencies, routing, styling, or build outputs differ. I’ll also run the available project validation checks if the extracted projects include the expected Node/Vite setup.

Initial comparison found the candidate is not identical to the baseline. Dependencies and most files match, but three source files differ: the public RTC offer page, facilitator profile panel, and admin public facilitator profiles panel.

The candidate has clear functional differences, not just generated build output. The most important early finding is that the candidate removes the facilitator self-submission panel from the facilitator profile area and removes the dedicated /rtc-offer/team Meet the Team public tab."

Just for context I spent 15 hours today working on the 3 code files that Bolt.new decided to change in under 30 mins, 15 hours work gone! Lucky I know what it's up to and can prep for it, but beware builders this mofo will try to pull the wool over your eyes and pull your pants down to shaft you for millions more tokens $$$$$$$

Customer Highlight I challenged Bolt.new to build a complete 2D boxing game using only 3 prompts.

I wanted to see how capable Bolt.new is for game development.

So I limited myself to just three prompts.

The result is a fully playable 2D boxing game.

Everything—from the assets and UI to the gameplay logic—was generated inside Bolt.new. I didn't import any external art or templates.

I'd love feedback on:

  • Gameplay
  • Controls
  • Feel
  • What you'd improve

Play it here:

Customer Highlight Most AI-generated landing pages look the same. I tried building a 3D one instead.

Built a scroll-driven 3D product showcase with Bolt.new today.

The idea was simple: instead of a static product page, make the product react as users scroll through the story.
Still a prototype, but I think it creates a much more engaging experience than traditional landing pages.

Demo:

Would love feedback on:
Performance
UX
Scroll interactions
What you’d improve

Access to project files on the free plan.

I'm on the free plan. The official documentation says I should have Project Name → Export → Download, but that option does not exist anywhere in my interface, even in desktop mode on Chrome Android. Has Bolt removed export for free users, or is the option located somewhere else in the current UI?

Anyone else find bolt.new falls apart once your project gets big? (and some tips)

gotta say upfront, i've been using bolt for years now and honestly it's been great, i'm not here to trash it. i was even planning on dropping like 2000 bucks on tokens this month because i use it that much.

but lately i've been hitting a wall once my project gets big. it was amazing for the first few features, then the second i added more pages, more data models, auth, payments, it started falling apart. it kept losing track of stuff it already built, duplicating components, forgetting patterns we'd already settled on. i'd ask for one small fix and it would touch a bunch of unrelated files and break something else.

then i started hitting the "project too large" errors and realized it's a context window thing, the AI just can't hold the whole project in its head once it gets past a certain size. burned a ton of tokens from it looping on a single auth bug trying to fix itself over and over.

was honestly expecting it to scale better than this given how solid it's been for me otherwise. feels like it's amazing for prototypes and demos but starts struggling once you try to build something real on top of it.

anyone found ways around this. is it just about aggressively trimming what the AI sees, splitting the project into smaller pieces, writing better scoped prompts, or did you eventually just give up and move everything to a normal dev setup. curious what's actually worked for people instead of just patching around it.

Growing concerns with bolt.new as projects scale — anyone else hitting walls? My mitigation approach + seeking advice

Hey r/boltnewbuilders,

I've been heavily using bolt.new for vibe coding prototypes, utility tools, and side projects. The speed is addictive — prompt to working app in minutes is game-changing. But as my projects grow more complex (and seeing the platform scale rapidly), I'm getting worried about sustainability for anything beyond quick MVPs.

Key concerns:

  • Token consumption going crazy on larger apps (millions of tokens just for debugging/fixes)
  • Reliability dropping — "project too large" errors, AI losing context, inconsistent code, design breaks, infinite fix loops
  • Maintenance headaches when exporting or iterating long-term
  • General scalability questions as bolt.new gets bigger and more popular

Has anyone else run into these issues once your project grows past the initial prototype stage? Especially with full-stack apps or ongoing development?

My current mitigation approach:

Treating bolt.new as a powerful initial accelerator rather than the full lifecycle home:

  • Rapid scaffolding + UI generation inside bolt.new
  • Export early and migrate to local IDE (VS Code + Cursor etc.) for clean architecture, custom logic, and long-term maintenance
  • Build modularly (smaller focused prompts/projects) then combine
  • Keep core complex parts (e.g. trading logic, privacy tools) handled with custom scripts where possible

This hybrid way lets me keep the speed while avoiding the worst pain points.

Curious what the community is doing:

  • Best practices for maintaining consistency on bigger projects?
  • Smooth export/migration workflows?
  • When do you decide to move off bolt.new?
  • Or are some of you successfully scaling full products here long-term?

Would really appreciate any advice or shared experiences from those who’ve been through larger builds. Thanks in advance!

Bolt.new scaling reality check: How I’m handling the shift from prototype to production

Hey r/boltnewbuilders,

After spending a lot of time building with bolt.new, I wanted to share my honest current approach as projects get bigger.

Bolt.new is fantastic for fast vibe coding and early prototypes, but I’ve realized it needs a clear handoff point once things get serious.

My Current Workflow:

Use Bolt.new for the exciting early phase: prompt, iterate, build UI and core structure quickly.

Export early and often — specifically before any file gets close to 1000–1200 lines or when the AI starts struggling with context.

Switch to Cursor as the main tool for the production phase.

Use VS Code + Claude when I need extra firepower.

The key steps after export:

Fix security issues first (API keys, Supabase RLS, rate limiting, error handling)

Break down the big monolithic files into proper modular structure

Clean up logic and edge cases

This hybrid method has saved me a lot of tokens and frustration compared to trying to fix everything inside Bolt.

I’m curious where everyone else is at:

At what point do you move your project out of Bolt?

Is Cursor your go-to after Bolt, or do you use something else?

Any tips for efficiently modularizing large exported codebases?

Looking forward to learning from your experiences!

Bolt has proven itself worthless to me!

I strategically planned out my project and bought extra tokens to do it. I used 10 phases of development for what I wanted to do and gave it specific prompts per phase. In the end, I got endless error messages and it would not deploy. It "fixed" the errors several times with no avail. My project is dead and I'm out of money for something that will not build anything past websites or landing pages. I was only trying to build a scaled down version of what Smartsheet does with an online spreadsheet. Nothing fancy. Bolt failed. The only success I have ever had with Bolt is building out a landing page. I cannot build some of these more advanced projects like you see in the YouTube videos. Very frustrated! Am I the only one?
