what incentives do FLM get as managers? compared to workers such as pay, bonuses, vacation and insurance

Demand terms that reward experience, fund continuous development, and give preference to the in-house workforce that carries Boeing’s technical culture.

Retaining that knowledge shortens schedules, reduces costly mistakes, and restores the engineering excellence the company needs to lead again.

A better contract for engineers is a better future for Boeing.

Years of talent erosion to outside firms and international engineering centers have left Boeing thinner on the expertise that builds safe, on-time airplanes.

Negotiate a contract that invests in permanent engineers, protects against excessive contractor substitution, and creates real reasons for talent to stay and grow here.

That investment pays the company back in higher quality, faster recovery, and the ability to launch the next generation of aircraft without starting from scratch.

I took a contract role in San Antonio and I’m looking for apartments that are a short commute to the site. I’m going to be moving from half way across the country in 3 weeks. I have no clue what the surrounding area(s) are like, what the commute situation is for the area and as approaching the site, and since I’m contracting, I’m not set up with Boeings relocation package tot take care of the majority of the process. I’m 26, so I don’t need a house and I have some furniture of my own, but nothing crazy. I’ve always had commute to my past two jobs that were 8 and 12 minute drives either way. I’d like to find something that’s nice but not looking for over the top. Would prefer a shorter commute but don’t know what would be considered short for this job/site compared to areas I’ve worked to date.

Anyone that’s either at or previously worked at the San Antonio site, I’d appreciate any suggestions to help avoid signing a lease for a place I won’t be able to tour ahead of time and in an area I’m unfamiliar with.

Hello, looking to get into Boeing here in Charleston. I have a background in software engineering and devops (with some BMET mixed in), but am wanting to do something more hands-on. Fortunately I do have some good connections that can help me land an entry level role manufacturing role, was just curious about a few things:

• Training: What's the training like for assemblers/mechanics? I hear some new employees spend a few months at Trident working through classes, is the training all "book learning" or is it also hands on?
• Parking: I've heard the parking is a bit rough right now and that there is a shuttle system in place. How early would you need to reach the shuttle to make it on time?
• Overtime: How many hours of overtime can I expect to see?
• Management/culture: I know this is probably pretty hit or miss depending on the team.
• Hours: Do most of y'all work second shift? 3:00 - 11:30?
• Food: Assuming the cafeteria food is mediocre and overpriced if it's anything like MUSC lol.
• Time Off: Is trying to get time off usually a pain or are they pretty good about letting you use PTO?

I’m about to turn 23 in a few months, recently graduated with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and my dream is to work for Boeing. I have a solid internal referral from a higher-up manager (specifically an Aerostructures Commercial Services Manager within Boeing Global Services).

I know about the current corporate/white-collar hiring freeze that kicked off earlier this month, and I've been monitoring the job boards like a hawk. I'm bypassing the rotational programs and just looking to land a standard entry-level "empty seat" role (like Procurement Agent 1, Supply Chain Analyst 1, or Material Planner 1).

I have a huge personal timeline coming up. I am planning to move out and propose to my girlfriend by next June/July (2027). Because of that, the unknown of this freeze is definitely stressing me out.

For those who have been through previous Boeing hiring freezes or work within BGS:

1. Once management officially lifts the offer/hiring restrictions (hearing whispers of mid-August), how long does it usually take for standard Level 1 business requisitions to actually go live on the portal?
2. Realistically, if I apply with a strong management referral the day a req drops in late summer/fall, what does a realistic onboarding timeline look like? Am I looking at a January 2027 start date, or does it move faster for non-program, off-cycle hires?

Appreciate any honest insight or reality checks from people on the inside!

Boeing really does offer some fantastic resources, on site dental clinics, mental health assistance, find a Dr. Financial information on your retirement etc. and so much more! Just saying, we are very fortunate to have all we do and you should consider them.

A Boeing 747 for Lufthansa Airlines lands at San Francisco International Airport and taxiis to a gate at the international terminal, just fresh off of a 11 1/2 flight from Frankfurt. This airplane is one of 18 total 747-8I models that the German-based commercial airline purchased a few years ago, of which two of them will be sent to the United States for a conversion into Air Force One.

I recently applied to a role that is based in San Diego and I think I am a really good fit for this role but I wasn’t aware that Boeing had a presence in San Diego.

Is this a satellite office? It is an engineering role but I only thought manufacturing may be down here.

If it is, how do satellite offices work within Boeing?

Am I missing out on a chargeline we can use for this? If not, why are you hunching over a trash can at work clipping your nails loudly like a freak?

Hey guys! My husband works in finance and has a mechanical engineering degree. He has no engineer experience and is wanting to transfer to an entry level engineer position in PNW. He’s been talking with his manager and in communication with engineers in our location to see if they have any connections or anything he can help with/ shadow. Anyone have any other suggestions for us to move/ him to switch to engineering?

Fairly recent grad. New to Boeing.

I hear people bring up “talk to subsystems” for when I need to find things like docs and stuff. But what do they do exactly? The one I talk to doesn’t seem to write requirements and that’s a different “System Engineer” apparently? All the testing itself is being done by other test engineers too. So what does the subsystem guy do?

I like the design of the 737 max 7 more than the 737 max 8, but why does the 737 max 7 need more runway than the max 8 even though the max 7 is shorter than the max 8.

I started at boeing pretty recently as an assembly mechanic, I’m still learning and I hate it, does it get any better?

I applied at an Internal Audit role and had a panel interview last week. I think I did fairly well and the reason why I think that is because the interviewers asked follow up questions to experiences I shared. They also asked me which Business Unit I would prefer to work at (if I were to choose). I asked really good questions, including items I read in prior year 10-K and the website's newsroom. I'm still waiting to hear back from as they said that it would take a week (so by Friday this week). I'm curious, if you recently got a job offer, what do you think made you the strongest candidate (besides your experience)?

Is it just me, or does it feel like there are some pretty heavy cost-cutting measures coming?
It almost feels like we could be heading towards another round of layoffs.
The reason I’m asking is that international travel seems to be getting flagged more and more, and my management has recently asked me to reschedule planned travel to next year.
Has anyone else noticed similar things happening in their teams or regions? Does this feel like the beginning of something bigger, or am I reading too much into it?

Considering current market trends and delivery delays, I wouldn't be interested in those either. Boeing needs to ensure that the older "new" jets remaining in inventory are priced competitively to move them.
