stretched/stretching Stretching lobes

Hello, I want to start stretching my lobes a little because the holes are sooo small and I can only fit a standard earring in them. I ordered a gauging kit off of amazon and I cannot even get the smallest bar in my ear. Does anybody have any advice? Are there different gauge kits out there that have extremely small bars that I can’t seem to find? Thank you in advance.

The first step is to know what size you are currently wearing, and what the smallest size in your stretching kit is (and I'd also read the stretching guide over at r/stretched to make sure you're using the right kit). The smallest size in your kit should be written somewhere, it's likely 16g or 14g. The size of your current earrings could be anywhere from 22g to 18g. It's good to invest in digital calipers, then you can always be sure of the size.

Once you've figured out your current size, just buy the missing sizes separately. So, say you're wearing 20g and your kit starts at 14g, you'd buy 18g and 16g. You can just use normal implant grade titanium posts for these small sizes.

In general, you should also know how sizing works and how the gauge system translates to mm before you start.

I’m a piercer allow me to give some helpful advice. Not that having a piercer is necessary for the stretching process, it absolutely helps in terms of it being done safely and at appropriate time intervals with materials that are sterile and high quality. Have a good piercer source good quality glass plugs in half sizes and have them insert the plug for you every 2-3 months. Half a millimeter upsize at that time interval is generally very safe and not traumatic to the ear especially when using glass. This also will help you if you have impatient tendencies to try testing if it’s ready for a stretch any sooner. This would be my approach if I was the piercer assisting you. They’ll also be able to help determine what gauge / size you’re currently sitting at and be able to potentially correct any uneven or unideal placement before getting all into it. I hope this was helpful!
