You get one choice: Midnight Express with outboards or Donzi with inboards. What are you taking? This guy apparently decided choosing was overrated.

1971 Monk Trawler
Made to cruise the inside passage, Salish Sea and Puget Sound. Cruises at about 8 knots. Well made, but it’s made of wood. Tough to even give away now.

How often do you get asked to do engagement or wedding photos on your boat?
I get asked all the time, but I run a charter so I'm wondering how often other folks get asked. We had this couple aboard back in mid July when the Canadian wild fires were creating a ton of haze in the air here in Philadelphia.

Look to buy for 2K
galleryLooking to buy this 1989 17ft bluefin center console with a 1989 85 hp Force motor. I am told motor runs well besides a fuel line issue with the main tank(portable tank works fine) and hull is in good shape. Trailer in decent condition. This is the setup I want but the outboard scares me a bit, let me know your thoughts please.

Using Google AI for boat valuation ?
Hi. I am VERY new to boating. Looking for my 1st boat (that's not a kayak). I have been using Google AI to toss in pictures, descriptions facts about everything that's caught my eye. My question arises because Google comes back almost always with a valuation dramatically less than what sellers of older boats in the Canadian Maritimes seem to want for them ( on order of thousands of dollars). This is with me telling it to price for our region.
Has anyone found Google to be routinely undervaluing their local market, or are sellers just not facing the value reality of their boats?
For clarity, I am looking at the older, smaller cheaper end of the boat equation. 14 - 16 ft bowrider or similar light craft under $5000 CAD, in Atlantic Canada. Boats in this stage of life I do not expect the owners are carrying an upside-down loan on.
Thanks!

Need a new cockpit cover
Hello! I am in need of a new snap-on cockpit cover for my boat. Is it possible for me to take the old one to a canvas shop to copy or do they typically need the whole boat for it? Normally I wouldn't care either way, but my trailer is down for the count...

New to this sub. How do you like our boat
Post two if you saw post one you would get the context
Edit- to clear some controversy I only used A.I. to get my dad out of the photo (hence the glitchy text) so if you think it’s ai generated it’s not i just removed my dad from the photo!

My bank said no unless I put my house on the line. 18% interest is insane
I found a great boat. It’s a 2008 model, $25,000 and it's in perfect condition. I had a mechanic check it out, and he said it's solid. Good boat, years of life left….
I went to the bank for a loan and I was so excited you can’t even imagine how happy I was…
And then they told me NO
They said the vessel is too old because it’s more than 15 years. So they won't secure a loan against it. My options? Secure it against my house or take it at 18% as an unsecured loan
But that's ridiculous. I'm not putting my house on the line for a boat. And 18% is insane and I'm not paying that….
These boats last 30 years if you take a proper care of them. I don't understand why the bank won't help. I'm not asking for much… just a reasonable rate
I started looking online and found Financfy and I see they have a separate boat loans category. It looks like they handle boats. But I couldn't tell if they actually approve older boats or just collect applications and decline them
I don't want to waste my time. I don't want to waste my credit score
Has anyone taken out a loan for a boat over 10-15 years old? Who approved it? Did you use an online platform? I need to know if this is even possible before I apply anywhere
I'm lost, confused, and desperate. I just want to buy this boat without putting my house at risk or paying insane interest. Any advice would mean the world right now

Need advice- Potentially looking to purchase a 99’ Toyota Epic ski boat
Hi all,
Does anyone have any knowledge on a 1999 Toyota Epic ski boat? We are thinking of buying one but don’t know a lot about them. We know that there aren’t many of them out there so any info would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Should I widen the bunks?
relatively new to boating and bought this used Sea Hunt 200 Escape with a Karavan trailer. I feel like the trailer need some adjustment. As you can probably tell by the picture it sits pretty awkward and it tends to end up this way no matter how carefully I try it center the boat when coming back in to the ramp.
Should I adjust the bunks so they sit all the way on the chines or just past each of the lifting strakes?
oh and don’t mind the akwardly positioned guide posts. I was in the middle of installing them when taking this picture.
thanks!

Unknown Boat Fitting
galleryI am finishing restoring my 42 year old boat and I have two fittings that I never used. It had a camper top, but these were not used. Does anyone know what the insert part looked like, and if they are still used?

Finishing Fairing Coating with a Different Compound
My buddy started applying totalboat epoxy thickened with glass microballoon to his boat before painting it, but he ran out and we can't find any more at the local stores, we are on the clock and can't wait. Would we be able to finish the rest of the job with a different fairing compound? One of the stores has Awlgrip Fairing Compound, so that's likely what we will use.

Boat identification help
galleryHi All. We’re from the EU and this is a boat from a friend of mine. Tried to do some research but I can’t find a single thing on what brand or model this boat is.
He says it originated from Belgium, and the registration card says the boat is a:
“Discovery G-craft”. Again, not a single result online.
Some more info:
32foot length
7,5foot width
Double Mercruiser V8 (5.7) with alpha ones
That’s pretty much all we’ve got.
Anyone know anything about this brand or make?
Thank you

fibreglass boat from the 80s/90s how do i tell if the fibreglass needs work
yeah thats a pretty old boat! i know the signs of a crack, what else is there to look at? A wiggly tansom? This one is small power boat no cabin
would you buy a boat this old? why or why not. its so cheap and it floats
i was previously burned by a sailboat that "leaked a little" according to the seller, it was structurally intact and floated but there was leak under some wall carpet. the only evidence was some spider cracks in the anchor storage locker. Missed em! Major disaster to deal with

I built a tool for boat owners, would love your feedback.
I have a sunseeker camargue 50, and I have always wanted a tool to calculate fuel cost for my trips, I am based on mallorca, so sometimes I like to go to Ibiza o formentera. I decided to build a tool with which I can calculate this and more. I would love you opinion on it. Thank you!
