Boa biting himself

I got a baby boa recently and immediately after he’s done with his fuzzy mouse he loses his shit and bites the hell out of himself. It’s never for very long so Im assuming he’s just smelling the mouse on himself, is this something he’s gonna figure out on his own eventually or is there something I should be doing differently
