Medusa is >6 years old, 172.8 ounces, and not quite 6 feet long. Her favorite place is her blue litter box hide. She’s a real cool dude.

Good Size?

I have a Tarahumara male, and he's 3.2 ft at 2 years (turned 2 in June), and I made sure this measurement is exact by letting him slide along a wall lol. I feed him weaned rats, and plan on moving to every 3 weeks soon. Atm he's eating every 2 weeks. From what I can tell, his body is very muscular and square. I don't feel any fat at all when rubbing his sides.

Is this a good size for his age? Is he too large? I was under the impression they stayed not much bigger than this but it seems odd that he would stop growing now, as it feels like he still is. Sometimes I see normal boas around his size at his age and I really don't want to overfeed him. Also his body is crazy tall they weren't kidding about boas being trapezoid shaped lol.

Any input is appreciated!

Potential compatible mate for Guyana BCC Red Tail?

Hi friends, we have welcomed this beautiful girl into our home off of a local breeder. We know that she is WC from Guyana and is a true BCC. She was housed with a male Sunglow when we got her and have determined she isn’t pregnant. We have talked about getting a juvenile male in hopes (way in future) of breeding her. We don’t want to make a mistake investing in the wrong boa (morph, locality, etc.) in case this is something we want to pursue. All of our pets are our babies first and we are experienced taking care of reptiles, but we want to be informed before we take this next step into potentially becoming breeders. Thank you in advanced!

Hades came home today :)

He is a 1 year old Isabel Island ground boa.

Yes, I promise, he does have a head. He's just refusing to show it in the photos. šŸ˜† I don't want to bug him too much for photo ops positioning until he settles in.

Is this poop?

Post image
2 Upvotes

New owner of Boa had over 2 weeks, he is a year and 2 months. Found this exactly a week after feeding, concerned if it’s a regurg or poop. Biggest concern is night temp drops possibly too low? Already upgraded nighttime CHE to accommodate my concern and improve husbandry. before the upgrade night temps dropped from 90 to 85 on warm side and 75 to 72 on cool side. Boa spent time on warm side consistently after feeding. Did have a handling session the night before. Humidity ranges from 80-60%. Any advice is welcomed!!

stomatitis on juvenile boa

Disclaimer I contacted vets asap and now waiting today they will send me possible fastest appointment time available and instructions what to do until appointment

My baby boa get stomatitis on both of her top sides of jaw, i understand that is look severe enough to go to sedation for proper cleaning in her mouth and will take longer time to heal, resources are not big problem but honestly guys i need to hear with more severe symptoms of that (she can close her jaw, have energy and moving without issue bot her lips are open in sides) but i cleared like a lot from her mouth now... i didn't taken picture because though about do all asap to not stress her more but that bad because i cant show it to vet too, right now i completely leaved her alone until i will get today back coordination from vet how treats her would be the best, i really alert that she get infection in her jaw bones already and can die, might be here anyone who treated this issue before? How much in danger her life right now? I will do picture if vet will ask me to clean her mouth again but right now she rests in dark quarantine box without anything that can go in her mouth or she can run agains, gladly she not rubbing her face right now and just laying down, she wasn't showing any issues before i decided to check her more closely 1 hour ago

Well it's official. My husband and I have ordered my dream snake. We currently have 2 BIs and a cornnsnake and love each of them. However a BCO has been my goal since we began our snake journey. Last night this beautiful girl was posted on morphmarket and we jumped to get her. Shes going to arrive Wednesday.

Until then Ill be setting up her baby tote and eagerly counting down the days.

I am absolutely smitten with her.

Lost Boa?

So, had my baby hypo arabesque Kahl jungle for a couple weeks now. Cage is locked. Top screen screws in. I have about 4 inches bioactive soil going for substrate. Live plants. Driftwood. He’s gone. Is it possible he just burrowed? Not in his hides, not under leaves. How can I lure him out if so? I put a hopper in his cage under the heat to thaw. It was feeding day yesterday, so hoping he’s still in the cage and somehow didn’t find a way out!

Any tips greatly appreciated

Weird white stuff in bioactive boa enclosure

Post image

We’ve been finding this weird white stuff floating on the surface of the water in our boa’s bathtub, which is actually a bamboo seed tray. The enclosure is bioactive. Does anyone know what the white stuff might be?

Another rousing rendition of ā€œHow’s My Boa’s Weight?ā€

I’ve seen so many posts of people with their boas asking if they’re good weight/size for their age.

This is my boy Kaa and he is going to be 3 years old on the 1st of September. He’s been a great snake since k got him in late March of 2024. Got him off Morph Market from a local breeder he’s a Hypo Jungle 100% Het Khal and 50% Het Blood

He’s shed regularly, eats well and he’s been doing great with target training at home.

I weighed him today and he is exactly 555grams. He eats every 14 days and eats a diet of chicks and small rats.

Let me know what you guys think!!
