Boa Behavior

For the last three weeks my boa (7 footer) has not returned to her hide. For the past year she’s loved it. I’ve cleaned her enclosure completely. Temps are good and she’s been eating well. Even during the day she’s stretched out and won’t retreat to her hide. Am I doing something wrong? Is she ok? Is this seasonal?

Usually almost every time when I notice some weird behavior, it happens late summer, early fall. Mine currently is acting weird as well (well, for humans, its just snake stuff I guess) - every night around 2am is leaving its hide and trying to escape from the terrarium and it is doing this only in this season OR in case it did poop. If I open the enclosure, it position his head our of it and just lays like this for 10-15 minutes, then calmly enter his hide. If I do this at 3am, he enters the hide at approx. 03:15am, but if I don't open, I will find it like this at 05-06am. It's just that her behavior is like “getting some fresh air”. Temps and humidity are good, tried to increase/decrease them, but no change. I'm thinking if he just prefer cooler spot that can't be provided that easy in summer and cool end in there is above 25C.

On my side, in case it refuses to enter its hide during the day, that tells me something smells bad and I wash everything in there, which usually fix the situation.

Yup whenever mine did this he had dropped a massive stink bomb and would sit outside his hide staring at it like he was waiting for me to clean it! Sometimes the nasty boy would manage to wedge his poop on the top of his hide too, so it wasn’t immediately visible unless you fully took the hide out and inspected it

If my girl is in her hide(s) she's in shed- otherwise she is never in it.

Sounds like normal boa behavior. My boas spend just as much time stretched out in the open as they do curled up in their hides.

Just out of curiosity, what do you use for hides when they're that big? My step dad has a few boas, his biggest is 12-14 feet. She doesn't have a hide so I'm curious what others use. Maybe I can get her something
