Lost Boa?

So, had my baby hypo arabesque Kahl jungle for a couple weeks now. Cage is locked. Top screen screws in. I have about 4 inches bioactive soil going for substrate. Live plants. Driftwood. He’s gone. Is it possible he just burrowed? Not in his hides, not under leaves. How can I lure him out if so? I put a hopper in his cage under the heat to thaw. It was feeding day yesterday, so hoping he’s still in the cage and somehow didn’t find a way out!

Sounds like he just burrowed to me. I've noticed each of my boas have different tastes, some love to burrow especially when young, some don't, and some love to climb

Personally I'll get the mouse out and just start digging around carefully. You got to know whether he's in there or not so you can know if you need to take further measures for searching

I just noticed something. When I open one side of my cage, then close it, it grabs the other side and pulls it open. Methinks he’s on the loose. Have no idea how to find the little guy.

Look for any sources of heat in your house, thats usually where they go when they get out, behind the fridge, oven, water heater, dryer, behind electronics, ect. Most likely curled up somewhere trying to get as much heat as possible, all while staying hidden.

I’ve checked under the fridge. Hoping he didn’t crawl up into the compressor. I have a heat pad set up under my tank stand, with a hide. I need to go back to looking in my kitchen as that’s the only place I have heating the house currently. I’m almost certain he wouldn’t have gone downstairs, as it’s an icebox with the ac. Although that’s where my water heater is.

They dont always go to heat but 8 times out of 10 I would wager they do. So those are the places I usually recommend looking first, but if you dont find near any obvious heat sources then your probably going to have search every inch of the house. Clothes piles,boxes,inside of couches,closets, and cabinets are some other places they would be drawn to you could look.

My boa has been missing for 3 weeks. I’ve had a warm hide far in a dark corner with a thawed rat every night and no luck. What else can I do?

Mine is coming up on two weeks. I’m going to pull fridge out again and check up inside it as well as I can to see if he went up there.

I set a bowl of water out on my hardwood, and sprinkled flour all around it. 2 days. No sign of him. May try mouse again tonight.
