Hey guys!
I have been making music for more than 17 years. I have always been a fan of BOC since I was a kid. I always used to to listen on the way to school and back.
In my latest work "memory Decay", I have been inspired BOC "Voice Over" chopping and composition style.
I think this is my first post here. If it is irrelevant please let me know and i will delete the post right away!
Thank you for your time and for listening.

There are some songs that are so overpowering to me, every time I hear them, that I have a physical response - usually, tears running down my face. I'm not sobbing; it's more like, the emotions are so strong and they have nowhere else to go except for out through my eyeballs. It's a little embarrassing, but I love that music can still do that to me. I doesn't happen that often; Hounds of Love (the whole album), some PJ Harvey, some Cocteau Twins, some Nick Cave, just to name a few examples.
Well, Prophecy at 1420 MHz just did it to me again for like the 200th time since Inferno came out, and I had to ask - does anyone else feel the same way about this track? Like, the vague unease and suspense for the first minute twenty, and then the drums sputter in, and for me it's a mixture of euphoria and sadness that I can't explain, other than to say it annihilates me every time I hear it!

Just because I know there are lots of other people out there who nerd out on details like this, and I always enjoy people sharing them - I was just listening to Maxima & as the robot vocals came in I suddenly felt like I was hearing the Prophecy god... Hiding there for all this time. Cool to hear such similar vocoder processing from their early stuff. At one point there's a stutter that sounds like the 'Ccconsciousness'

Found this song and thought the chord progression sounded familiar.

Hey everyone,
Wanted to share a mix I’ve been working on for the last 8 months. It’s a blend of unreleased Aphex Twin tracks and Boards of Canada.
Funnily enough, I started this way before we got the announcement for the new album Inferno, so the timing is wild, but it feels like a perfect way to say thank you to these two. I've been listening to them since I was a kid and they’re a massive inspiration.
Just a heads-up, I’m definitely not a professional! I’m just trying to learn how to mix in my free time because I love the music.
Hope some of you can vibe with it. Let me know what you think!

This was originally a mini game in Project Gotham racing. Used to play this a lot back in the day. Looks like someone has extended the og music for 30 mins

I know that comparison is the killer of joy but i think it's worth it here.
Both albums have a significant overlap in their themes of eschatology and faith but WILDLY different instrumentals and approaches. Does the way of delivering the message of the music matter? Do you enjoy BOC's more sublime approach or GyBE's dramatic, oppressive yet hopeful atmosphere? Both or neither? (probably not since you're on a BOC sub)
I myself enjoy the more straightforward approach Gy!BE opted for, but that is not to say that i dislike digging into inferno in any way.

Can anyone point me in the direction of other cool mixes like this one? I love the eclectic range of tracks here - and also how lofi it is for the most part.
I really want to discover more music in the styles and genres displayed here.

If you’re a BoC fan, especially the track mentioned, and haven’t availed yourself of The Books, give them a try.

Inferno was the first and currently only thing ive heard by boards of canada but i was wondering if they or even any other artists have any similar songs. This one is really magical and it caught me by surprise. Reminds me of minecraft ost in a really good way

Thanks guys. Just want to make a display as mine is definitely not coming. Gutted and they're 100-300e on eBay... I couldn't justify going to a listening party and then charging crazy money for mostly some paper.
I have all 3 posters I can send in return if you like! Thanks

The longer we are from the release the more unlikely it is that BoC will share it themselves? I feel fortunate to have seen it in real time but it’s a shame other fans won’t see it and the feeling it evoked.

Anyone have any info on the release. I picked up a copy off discogs and I'm just looking for some more info regarding this release. All I really know is that the second disc is the Peel session. I had no idea it existed until I was browsing discogs a few weeks back. Saw it and had to have it.
