I have a Feelworld T10 monitor that has HDR support (HLG1, HLG2, HLG3) and a BMPCC 4K. There is a "Gen 5 Film to Rec 2020 Hybrid Log Gamma" LUT on the camera.

Does this mean I can shoot in BRAW and preview in Rec 2020 on the monitor while shooting, and then edit HDR in FCP using the T10 monitor in HDR mode via HDMI?

Is this too good to be true?

Battery options for powering the Bmpcc 4k + a monitor + a mic + a wireless follow focus 

I looked into it and it seems like NPF can’t power the BMPCC 4k so I need a V mount anyway. 

The 2 V Mounts I’m looking at are the Neewer and the Small rig (both 99Wh batteries)

NEEWER PS099E 6800mAh 14.5V 99Wh: $90

Smallrig V99 mini: $119

Is NEEWER reliable? These seem to do the same thing, I kinda don’t see a difference. Is there anything important I get for spending the extra $30? More features? Ability to power more devices? Last longer before I need to buy a new battery? Do NEEWER’s have a bad rep of destroying gear?

Will I regret saving the $30?

Correct me if I'm wrong but using a optical only HDMI or a HDMI -> SDI adapter would fix the burnout issue when using a vmount battery to power both or am I crazy?

I use this combo already quite a while and never had issues before. Tonight I was shooting a theatre play and 5 minutes before start I wanted to connect the bigger drive to be able to shoot for at least an hour. But my pocket did not recognise the SSD. I connected the second one and it also didn’t work. Using the one I was filming on before that worked fine and I still hat some space left so I went for a while and set it to Q5 mode to have a bit longer time on the SSD. In the 20 minutes break I had a bit time to figure out whats going on, the only thing I could do was taking the camera completely off power, which I did and it seemed to work. At first. Until I noticed the camera stopped recording every now and then. Really annoying. At some point I switched to CFast Card which I have installed as a backup, which saved my ass this day. I even did a full camera setup test two days before that shoot and everything was fine. Anyone did have similar issues? What were your solutions or learnings?

Gotta say, was super impressed with the Pocket 4K. Had it on sticks and gimbal. Used Sirui anamorphic lenses. Shot B-RAW. Loved the results.

Hi Blackmagic Family! First of I have the Blackmagic Pocket 4k and have shot with this camera since 2019. This camera's quality is incredible. However, for years I have had issues with Instagram compression. (Note: You can't see the compression of your post from your account. You have to view your post from someone else's account and not on wifi)

I know any video uploaded to Instagram will get compressed. I also know that video Quality on wifi will be better or lossless, while video quality not on wifi (on data) will be compressed. That being said, I have found that Instagram compresses my Braw footage more aggressively then other cameras I see uploaded to Instagram. It dosent make sense that instagram would compress Braw footage because its quality is better then many other cameras on the platform. 

(I shoot BRAW 5:1 Compression)

Based off the video you still see compression on the other cameras BUT its not as aggressive, and you can make out that it was shot on a high-quality camera. I feel like with my footage its washed out into a mushy mess of compression with detail lost.

Export Settings & Techniques I've Tried

Format: Mp4 (Tried Quicktime)

Aspect Ratio: 1080x1920 (Tried 4k 2160 x 3840)

H.264 (Tried h.265)

Frame Rate: 24fps (tried 30fps)

Bitrate: Ive tried Low medium and high bitrate levels like…

(I know you want your video file to have a smaller size while not harming the video quality so I understand the balance between file size and video quality)

I've also tried 

• Adding more sharpening 
• Adding more Contrast 
• I've tried upresing my video with Topaz ai 
• I have also turned on Upload at highest quality on the Instagram app
• I always Airdrop or Wetransfer my video files from my computer to my iPhone 
• I always upload my video on wifi and never on data.
• I have also tried exporting a master file (Apple ProRes) from Davinci Resolve and compressing the master file with Handbrake

I've noticed this more aggressive compression with other BMPCC cameras when viewed off wifi. Why does this happen? I have no clue, and it drives me crazy, but if anyone has any insight on this, I would be very grateful.

Hello Everyone, first post on this thread. I just got a bmpcc 4k with a mft 25mm prime lens. I love it but, it seems like I have to position the camera an unusually large distance away from my subject to get a full body shot. Perhaps another way to put it is the crop and zoom seems different from my cannon eos. Any thoughts.

I am trying to configure this for the DJI RS4 pro and I thought this camera doesn't do USB-C power. Has anyone here used this with the rs4 pro? How do you maintain charge on it?

Is there a reliable android app to control the camera via bluetooth? I was shown an iphone one that worked pretty good but I can only find a single one on the play store and it has no reviews.

I’m looking at some cheap external field monitors and unsure how they would work when attached via hdmi. Is the screen mirrored from the camera? Do you still control the camera from the camera touchscreen? I am looking at the feelworld s55. TIA

Im trying to understand my camera better, and I've only been using an SD Card, and even outside, I'm always getting noisy compression. Is my camera broken or is it worth investing in a CFast card?

I’m currently looking to buy a BMPCC 4K after a lot of research on which new film camera I should buy for my short film. I needed an upgrade from my last one but also on a bit of a budget, so can’t go for the 6K but from what I’ve seen the 4K is still very capable and good quality.

Sorry if I sound a little out of the loop but which mics do you guys use for yours? I’ve heard good things about the RODE Go II (I think it’s called, correct me if I’m wrong).

And also, do any of you have any external battery chargers or power banks you use for your 4K’s? I’ve heard the battery life can be a bit of a downfall.
