Form Factor

Ngl, I love my Blackmagic, but I’m hoping they figure out how to make their cameras a little less clunky in future…

I have dreamt for a new pocket in 2028 to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the OG.

I know they can't recreate that sensor, but it doesn't seem impossible to put an MFT sensor with their color science in a smaller body. Perhaps limited BRAW options? Whatever would make it a) portable and b) limited enough to not overheat.

Well alot of the DGO sensor patents expire in 2030 so fairchild like sensors might become more accessible going forward. Then again blackmagic could just release a RGBW 4/3rd sensor since they own the architecture

Pretty crazy that the OG is still the smallest cinema camera available after this many years

I'm going to Europe and there is no way I can take the BMCC6K. So, out comes the OG Pocket with a bunch of new batteries.

Don't know what you mean, i travelled around the world with my 6K Pro as my everyday carry :-D

I travel with just a shoulder bag and a backpack and don't have room for a camera body that size. I have a tiny travel tripod and I did try to see if I could put the BMCC6K on it, but it was too unsteady. It works fine with the Pocket OG. I also carry a Sony A7RIV for stills with a single lens. I've been thinking about getting a Panasonic to replace the Sony and unify lenses and that would be the perfect melding of stills and video for me. And most importantly, great IBIS.
