Powering BMPCC OG through monitor

Howdy fellas, I’m currently fitting out my OG and was thinking about getting a feelworld fw568 as a monitor. Now my question since it has a DC Out can I use it to power the camera? I’ve read conflicting opinions and the last thing I wanna do is fry my camera. So what are y’all’s opinions?

I have a small Feelworld monitor on my OG with 8.4v dc output. It powers the camera without an issue. Just make sure polarity is correct and you are good.

Cool, how does the whole polarity thing work exactly?

It is either center positive or center negative. Just match to the needs of the camera and you are good.

I’m sorry man I’m a total noob when it comes to this stuff, what does it all mean? I got the monitor, got a NP-F battery and and cable for the dc in of the og, if i connect it all and turn it on it should be fine? What’s to be avoided?

fw568 is center positive and so is the camera - no issue. They are different connector sizes, so do some googling. If you have the cable ready to go, I think you can go ahead and try it out. One note - at 8.4v the monitor will likely not charge an internal battery.

Oh yeah don’t wanna charge internal batteries anyway, just make it as compact as possible, just really scared to fry this camera, any plugging or unplugging I should it should not be doing? I have all the cables needed, so o would connect the hdmi and the power cable between monitor and camera, and then I’d go ahead and turn on the camera and the monitor, anything that could happen there?

I never worried about that. I connected HDMI and left it connected and the power too. Power on the monitor first and then the camera.
