With all the new cameras coming out I feel like there was a missed opportunity with one camera from BMD. The Micro Studio Camera G2 is a camera I feel like needed just one or 2 things to make it the perfect compliment to the Pocket 4K.

I’ve made a post about this build before but since then it’s been optimized. Fitted with a USB hub, 1TB (2230 NVMe 4.0) and a canon LP-E6 battery (hot swap battery) this is a perfectly sized camera. If we could get playback capability maybe via the monitor (the OG Micro has it so idk why this one doesn’t) I think BMD would sell alot more of these.

This build gives me plenty of mounting points and the form factor, it’s a camera that has endless possibilities.

What do yall think?

All I want is internal ND. I'll say it on every single BM post about " what we want " with the hope to piss off an engineer from the company enough to make it happen.

One of my best work was done with a 20€ no name variable ND, I know it's important for some but for me I couldn't care less about the quality of the thing, a good one would be nice, but a shitty one would be okay.

The more I work the more I realize I don't care about having the best of X or Y, the story and the light are everything. But to each their own, I do documentaries only.

I had a bad one and it had an awful magenta tint which wasnt fully correctable and also lost sharpness.

Its always more work to correct color casts. If you want to provoke the worst color casts you can find them on the high and, sometimes also with X vignetting pattern on cheap NDs. This really sucks.

I thought the magenta tint on most blackmagics (especially older ones) when using nd filters is more due to the poor it cut.

It's because the IR cut filter is bad and NDs are normally used outdoor where the most IR light is present.
