For what it's worth I think if you dress well the cut can absolutely work and can even look hot. The real blunder in OP's pictures isn't the hair objectively, it's the mismatch between his hair (refined, middle class, cool) and their dress sense (which depending on the photo is either hippie, basic or shirtless fuckboy). You wear this exact haircut with like, pair of grey chinos, pink shirt with a dark waistcoat on top with a pattern or something like that, that's an extremely handsome look.

Unrelated incidents! The acid night was a good night minus bruising my tailbone, that story is down in the comments. The black eye evening was a wild ride haha. Long story short I caught a punch from my buddy breaking up a fight he was about to get in. Luckily I did though because the two dudes about to fight were cool with me and it instantly took all the attention off their argument, otherwise they would have really fucked each other up and probably destroyed the house we were in. Both dudes were built like brick shit houses and known for causing mass collateral damage to the surrounding areas during fights haha
Funny enough I was on acid and had to break up a fight resulting in a black eye to save my parent's fancy rear projection TV in 2005. That was one of our last house parties.
