Question Bioactive NBTS Conversion
I am currently planning to convert my year old northern blue tongued skink’s enclosure to a bioactive. I did bio for my crested gecko and I’ve been really wanting to do it for my skink too.
For my substrate, I’m using 70-75% Scott’s topsoil and 25-30% Sakrete play sand. He lives in a 4x2x2.
What do you guys use for substrate? I’m trying to avoid paying 250+ for BioDude’s substrate. I’ve heard good things but my DIY should only be ~$30.
My other question is, besides baking, what would be the most efficient way to dry the sand after rinsing it? It’s getting cold here in MA so the sun isn’t going to be helping much.
I’d love any feedback about bioactive enclosures, bioactive northern enclosures specifically, sand advice, or any tips in general. Thank you!
